They wanted to come over and show me some kind of demonstration that would supposedly save me money. They kept asking for my husband, claiming they’d spoken to him before. Thing is, my husband passed away 8 years ago. I got really annoyed and kept telling them I wasn’t interested. They just wouldn’t listen, so I ended up hanging up. But then they called right back, bothering me all over again. I had to tell them firmly to leave me alone and hung up again. They were seriously pushy and quite rude about it.

At around 1:29pm, we had a call but didn’t really get to talk at first because there was silence, then suddenly a click and a voice came on discussing home renovation stuff. We told them we're not interested and ended the call straight away.

The meal was spot on - the fish was done just right with a lovely crispy batter, chips seemed homemade and plenty of mushy peas to go with it. The bill came to about £35 which I thought was fair. Had heard loads about this spot so popped in for a bite and it really lived up to it. We kicked off with the Trenchers Seafood Special to share, absolutely stunning. The haddock is something else, and can’t forget the seafood chowder, proper tasty. I’m a sucker for good gravy, and theirs is spot on. Portions were generous and prices fair too. If you’re nearby, definitely worth checking out.

Just had the most amazing fish and chips for tea! Honestly, it was the best I've ever had - huge portions and cooked just right. The staff were really friendly and prices didn’t break the bank. We went in January, so getting a table was no problem, but I imagine in summer you’d need to book well ahead to get a spot. The place was spotless, including the loos, which is always a bonus. Can’t wait to pop back again soon. Definitely recommend giving it a go!

Such a letdown. We’d just been to another Michelin-starred place in San Sebastian that was fantastic, so this evening was meant to be the highlight for our friend’s 50th birthday celebration last July. The beginning was promising - we arrived just before dusk on a rainy evening and managed to enjoy the lovely scenery before nightfall. The dining area was gorgeous and the starters were good. But as more people arrived, the room got noticeably hotter. When we told our server about it, he said others found the air con too chilly and had switched it off. Honestly, I was gobsmacked.

He’d obviously checked some map app but clearly didn’t realise the spot was right next to a river according to the official maps!
