2 yearsThat blue comment kinda seems dodgy to me. If you get texts like that, you should report them to 7726 like the police say on the ActionFraud site. The cops barely know how big this scam problem is because hardly anyone actually reports the calls. Have a look at the Action Fraud website for the full details, it’s really helpful.ActionFraud2 yearsSomeone called saying they were from the meter company. I checked with my supplier just to be sure, and they confirmed it was genuine.2 yearsHad someone ring up nonstop all about solar panels, really won’t accept a simple no as an answer. Proper annoying.2 yearsAfter a pause, they said, "Hi, I’m your local energy consultant. Are you the homeowner there?" I asked, "Which area exactly do you cover?" They replied something about working with the [TLA] in several regions. So I pressed again, "No, I mean what specific area do you cover?" They started sounding pretty irritated after that. Eventually, I lost patience, told them I thought it was a scam, and they hung up. It was the same person from a couple of days ago, but the number back then ended with 88016. If they try ringing again, I might just humour them.TLA2 yearsGot another call today from the same area code but a new number. I already blocked the first one, so obviously I blocked this one too. These call centres always fake their numbers, so I reckon they’ll just keep ringing from different ones. The best thing I’ve found is to just let the answerphone take it, they usually hang up once they hear the message. Signing up to the TPS doesn’t seem to do a thing with these.Telephone Preference Service2 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were an energy advisor asking if I owned the place. Felt fishy straight away. As soon as I asked a few questions, they hung up sharpish. Definitely a scam.2 yearsI picked up and there was nothing but silence, looks like it was one of those call centres ignoring the TPS register completely.2 yearsI got a call about loft insulation and owning a house, and as soon as I said I knew it was a scam, they just ended the call right away.2 yearsI picked up and they just dropped the call. Definitely annoying in my book..2 yearsWhen I picked up the phone and greeted with a "hello", I was met with an odd automated reply of "goodbye" before the call abruptly ended. Quite suspicious, if you ask me.2 yearsTotal rip off!2 yearsGot two rings from this number earlier today, but as soon as I picked up, they just ended the call. Quite annoying, really.2 yearsI’ve just had a call from a number I don’t recognise, and to be honest, it set off alarm bells for me. This occurred on April 29, 2024, and I can’t shake the feeling that it might be some sort of phishing attempt. Best to stay vigilant!2 yearsI received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I opted not to pick up. It was rather mysterious!2 yearsEven though I've blocked this number before, I keep getting calls from them. They clearly don't care about the TPS at all.2 yearsPut the phone down as soon as I picked up.2 yearsAround this time every day, I keep getting calls that are almost definitely from scammers.2 yearsThis number rang me up, saying they were “responsible for the area” and then asked if I was the “homeowner.” Right after that, they just dropped the call.2 yearsThey called me twice - the first time they said they were ‘local energy specialists’, but when they rang the second time, they just ended the call straight away.2 yearsGot a call from someone I didn't know, didn't pick up and they didn't leave a voicemail either, then just dropped the call. Can't block them on my landline, so I just removed the number from my call list.2 yearsGot a call from the same woman with an Aussie accent who tried ringing me last week from a different Leeds number - blocked that one now. Back in December, I had a similar call from her but this time from a Manchester number, which I also blocked straight away. She claimed to be an energy advisor in my local area. Didn’t even get to the bit where she says “your loft insulation needs updating” because I cut her off quick. How on earth would she know that? I wasn’t exactly polite, to be honest.LeedsManchester2 yearsWhat a right con! This energy scheme is nothing short of a swindle.2 yearsI picked up and heard nothing on the other end.2 yearsI picked up the phone but the caller just hung up straight away.2 yearsI picked up and they just ended the call straight away.2 yearsThey gave me a buzz, I picked up and then they just hung up on me.Submit Your Own Report (0113 478 8006)
