Yesterday, my phone rang from a number I didn’t know, so I just ignored it. Today I looked it up here and it looks like it was one of those spam calls. Definitely won’t be calling back.

Last night, I got three calls from this number and then another from a pretty similar one. Luckily my phone picked them up as spam and blocked them all automatically.

A bloke with an Indian accent called saying he was from Carphone Warehouse offering some special deal and asked what phone I had. I told him I actually work at Carphone Warehouse and we don’t do cold calls like that. I was feeding my baby at the time, so I just said I couldn’t talk and hung up. He rang back a bit later and started swearing at me when I answered. After blocking that number, he phoned again from another Leeds area code and started swearing once more. I muted the call and got on with feeding my baby. He's been ringing non-stop from different Leeds numbers since.

Picked up the phone and they didn’t say who they were but immediately started asking about what phone I use and who my provider is. I just asked them to identify themselves and what they wanted, then they hung up.

This number rang me up pretending to be from my phone company, Vodafone, offering some 40% off deal (I’m nowhere near a Vodafone customer). They started asking for my personal details like name, address, and email. I fed them rubbish info and as soon as they twigged I wasn’t taking them seriously, they just cut the call. Definitely seemed like a scammer trying to scam info out of me.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from Vodafone with some sort of special deal. He said it was temporary and offered me unlimited texts, calls (even abroad) and data all for just £5 a month, which is exactly what I’m paying now. When I said it sounded too good to be true, he just ended the call. Guess I missed out on a cracking deal there!
