Got a random call from a man who said his name was Peter. He claimed to be ringing from 'MIS Direct' for Legal & General and Vitality. He asked me to verify some 'financial details'. I've honestly never come across MIS Direct before. I chose not to share any of my info with him. Just so you know: MIS Direct Ltd is a real company and they do represent other businesses (like L&G and Vitality here). It’s your call whether you want to trust them with financial info.

Do report scam calls to the ICO. Scammers really couldn't care less about complaints here, but they do take notice when the ICO gets involved - it takes just a minute or two to report on their website. Your phone provider won't do much since they profit from selling caller ID services and making money from call blocking.

This firm goes by the name of M.I.S Direct, operating in the insurance sector. Their official premises can be found at The Office Suite, Acton House, Scoresby Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 5EN. According to the records on the Companies House website, their financial statements for 2015, which were expected by 30th September 2016, are rather tardy. It appears they just managed to sidestep the threat of compulsory dissolution back in December 2016. As noted by several others, they seem to flout TPS guidelines with little regard. When I received a call from them, I mentioned my TPS registration, but they dismissed it, claiming it didn't apply to them because they're governed by the FCA. While it's true they’re registered with the FCA, it seems this shouldn't give them a free pass regarding TPS regulations.
