Got a random call from a man who said his name was Peter. He claimed to be ringing from 'MIS Direct' for Legal & General and Vitality. He asked me to verify some 'financial details'. I've honestly never come across MIS Direct before. I chose not to share any of my info with him. Just so you know: MIS Direct Ltd is a real company and they do represent other businesses (like L&G and Vitality here). It’s your call whether you want to trust them with financial info.

Do report scam calls to the ICO. Scammers really couldn't care less about complaints here, but they do take notice when the ICO gets involved - it takes just a minute or two to report on their website. Your phone provider won't do much since they profit from selling caller ID services and making money from call blocking.

The company in question is M.I.S Direct, specialising in insurance. Their official address is The Office Suite, Acton House, Scoresby Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD1 5EN. Looking up Companies House, it appears their 2015 accounts, which had a deadline of 30th September 2016, have not been filed yet. They barely escaped being struck off back in December 2016. Like others have shared, they seem to blatantly disregard TPS rules. When they rang me, despite me telling them I was on the TPS list, they claimed the TPS doesn’t apply to them because they’re FCA regulated. While they are listed with the FCA, from what I understand, that doesn’t mean they’re exempt from TPS regulations at all.
