some bloke rang me saying there was a dodgy application for an aqua new day card - i had tried to get one way back in nov 2020 but expedian shows nothing recent. he wanted my postal address to send me more details but now im worried this might have been a scam as i called aqua new day’s fraud dept online and they said there’s no new apps or activity linked to me.

Got a call from this number yesturday, they said someone was pretending to be me and that they would cancel my aqua credit card and post me a new one. Not sure if its real or a scam tho. They also told me to keep an eye on my bank account. They did ask which bank I use but never asked for any of my actual bank details.

Newday, who provide lots of different credit cards like Debenhams and Amazon, gave me a ring once after my card got declined online. The lady on the phone didn't properly prove who she was, so I wasn’t comfortable sharing my personal info since the number wasn’t on their site. She then told me to ring the number on my card’s back, which I did, and that agent verified it was definitely Newday calling.

Spoke with someone who had a heavy Indian accent and really bad English, saying he was from Visa and needed my card details and recent transactions to verify my account. Sounded like he was just reading from a script, cos he wouldn't answer any of my tricky questions properly. Ended the call straight away when I told him I knew it was a scam.

maybe we oughta ring up our bank or credit card company each time we get these calls and give em a bit of hassle. if they all teamed up and did that, i reckon it’d do more to stop these scam calls than a bunch of folks just moaning about it.

he wouldnt answer any of my questions. i ended up dialling ’1471’ to catch the number and then checked it with my banks fraud team.

Got a voicemail from New Day’s fraud team about my credit card. Sounded pretty genuine and they gave a number to ring back. Would be handy if New Day actually put that phone number on their website to help folks like me feel more certain. Really thankful for this site helping me chill out a bit.

A call came through from this number, and they left a voicemail claiming to represent New Day Fraud. I realised that this number has been ringing our home multiple times over the past few days without leaving a message, as I found out when I called 1471. Interestingly, a guest at our place also received a call from the same number but chose not to pick up. We’ve opted not to answer any calls from them, as it appears to be a fraudulent scheme.

I received a phone call from this number and was a tad sceptical at first. However, it turned out to be my credit card's fraud team verifying some information about a recent transaction. I thought it wise to share my experience here, as this is definitely a call worth answering instead of brushing off!

I had an interesting experience today with a phone call I received. The caller claimed to be from Amazon, insisting I confirm my home address to verify my identity. Before engaging further, I thought it prudent to ask, “Can you provide proof that you're genuinely from Amazon?” They then gave me a contact number. Curiosity got the better of me, so I rang it, only to discover it linked to the Debenhams switchboard instead. My advice? Always seek verification from such callers. Ask for their callback number, suggest they send an email, and then cross-check that email with legitimate contact details from the actual company. Better safe than sorry!

Beware! This number appears to be linked to a fraudulent operation. I would highly recommend disregarding any calls from it as it may be associated with dodgy dealings masquerading as the Debenhams customer support. Stay vigilant!

I received a call from this number tonight, but the person on the other end was quite reluctant to reveal their identity. They insisted that I share my details first, which I wasn't willing to do, leading to a rather abrupt hang-up from their side. Odd behaviour, if you ask me.

Having perused the various remarks, I thought it prudent to take a look at my credit card statements online for a bit of reassurance. To my dismay, I uncovered some unauthorised transactions had taken place. Interestingly, I hadn't dialled the number from which they called or the one they left in their message; instead, I opted for the contact number listed on my statement. Their voicemail was rather unclear, and I struggled to decipher the details. Upon conversing with customer service, I found out they had attempted several additional charges that very day, which is what raised the alarm bells. My advice to everyone is simple: if you happen to miss a call, do check your credit and store card statements. Better safe than sorry!

I received a call from this number earlier today, and they left a voicemail claiming to be from the fraud department, asking me to return their call. After doing a quick search online, I found that many others have encountered a similar situation. Quite concerning, isn’t it?

I keep getting around two phone calls daily from someone claiming to be from Debenhams' Fraud Prevention Team, wanting to ask me various security questions. I've already contacted Debenhams directly about my situation, which has been sorted, yet these calls keep coming. I suspect it's some sort of scam, so I urge everyone to be cautious. If you need to discuss any concerns, I recommend ringing Debenhams’ customer service and specifically asking for their fraud department instead of returning this number. Stay vigilant!
