I asked why they were ringing since I've already cleared my credit card, and they said it's for security reasons. Got a call from New Day about a missed credit card payment. Rang the number back and it wasn’t some expensive premium line, just a normal local one. I still didn’t pay them straight away though. Hung up and rang the number on my card instead and sorted the payment there. No need to freak out. New Day charge high interest rates, they handle the Amazon credit card too and, I reckon, Vanquis as well.

I reckon this might be linked to 'New Day' who deal with pricey credit cards under different names. Thankfully, I can block their calls on both my iPhone and BT landline - at least till they realise and switch to another number. Recently, I applied for an Amazon card and messed up somehow, so they cancelled it within a few days, said I’d broken some rule or whatever, even though I only spent £5. Now I’m getting like 8 calls a day from this number showing up on both my phones. This started on Sunday around 8.30 in the morning.

I reckon it's some debt collection outfit called New Day, connected to a card or account you might be late on. They don't hang around on the phone waiting for you to pick up, but when you manage to catch them, they come across as fairly polite.
