Just got a call like that earlier, and I wasn’t having any of it - told the bloke he’s just throwing away my time and funding from taxpayers. Decided to check the number after hanging up, so I called again and left a message on his voicemail warning him karma’s gonna catch up with him soon enough! Oh, I forgot to mention that his bloody doorbell went off while he was chatting. He had to hold on for about half a minute just to sign for his Amazon delivery. I did a quick search online and it seems these scammers keep switching their phone numbers or use lots of different ones. I’ve come across this trick before and it’s still going on. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud and blocked the number on my phone. If you’re unsure about anything to do with your taxes, just ring HMRC on the number listed on their official site - don’t get caught out.

Got a call from someone saying it was Her Majesty’s Customs. They told me to get in touch with HM Revenue & Customs about some investigation in my name, plus a court summons. They kept pushing me to ring 0113 328 1329 straight away, saying if I didn’t, I’d be branded a tax defaulter and an arrest warrant would be issued. Sounds dodgy as hell. I’ve already reported it to HMRC. Clear scam!
