So, this guy kept ringing over the last few weeks claiming to be from British Gas. He said our postcode didn’t match their records and kept asking for email addresses and other details to verify the account holder. One day alone, he phoned me about five times! Ended up blocking the number since there were a couple more doing the same thing. Proper nuisance.

I asked him to send me an email to confirm what he was saying, and then he just hung up. Honestly, I wouldn’t bother talking to this bloke. The scary thing is, he already had my full name.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with E.on, saying there was a problem with a recent bill and asking for the supply number on the bill. I refused to give it and rang E.on myself. They told me it was probably a different supplier trying to get hold of the supply number so they could contact E.on and pretend we wanted to switch without us knowing. They said it’s unlikely to go far since E.on has protections in place, but some other suppliers might not be as careful.
