This number showed up as a missed call on three occasions over the past few days. I finally picked up today. They asked if I’d been employed at a factory at any time during the past decade. When I said no, they immediately ended the call. Sounds like one of those claim companies that take a big chunk of whatever you’re supposed to get. I’ve blocked the number now.

They said they were from some National Workers group or whatever. Mentioned my partner might've worked in a factory, so I’m guessing they wanted him to file a claim for something like hearing issues or asbestos exposure, and of course they’d probably charge for it. No way I’m falling for that!

I was asked to speak to Mr. Went. I made it pretty clear what I thought of their call, then ended the call. Not long after, they rang again wanting to know why I'd been blunt. I told them they were being a pain and repeated my instructions. Then I hung up again. I’m not convinced they really understood, though.
