I heard somewhere that if a firm rings you over 3 times a day, it counts as harassment. Even though I've only got 1 or 2 calls from them (they’re usually call centres, so I can't be sure), I always tell them I’ve had three calls already and that’s harassment, and I’ll be contacting the police immediately. It’s really effective - about 9 times out of 10 it stops them!

Even tho I blocked this number, it kept ringing me back multiple times. Honestly, if companies werent allowed to just sell our info to whoever pays the most, maybe these pesky calls and spam emails would finally chill out. The gov really should step in and sort this mess out.

Got a call from some insurance firm claiming to be from Aviva and Legal & General. I told the lady I’m not interested at all. Then she started asking what policies I have set up, which I thought was way too personal, so I told her to mind her own business. She kept going on so I just ended the call and blocked the number. I honestly thought these annoying calls would have died down because of GDPR, but nope!

I don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so I’m not sure what they’re after. This number has rung me every few days on my mobile. In between those calls, I get other calls from numbers that look similar, but I just let them ring until they stop. They’ve never left any voicemail either.

Seems like a clever pitch. They said they partner with major insurance firms and might help me cut down on my premium costs. Tried to go over my current policy. This isn’t the first time they’ve rung and I’m sure it won’t be the last, but my phone showed the number as private.

Got a message that said someone tried to ring but my phone never actually did, which I reckon is a dodgy sign. If you get a call about a funeral plan, just tell them you're the funeral director - they end up dropping the call pretty quick. Life insurance ones? Ask if they cover terminal illnesses, and they’ll just hang up. Retirement calls I mess with by saying my hearing aid isn’t working properly and they quit straight away. If you can speak another language, use it - it really throws them off and doesn’t cost a penny. It’s turned into a bit of a game in our household now.
