Got a random call, and the guy used my first name like we were mates. I asked who he was, and he just said "Keegan" like we go way back. Then I asked what he wanted, and he started on about "rebates you’re probably entitled to". I cut him off, told him it was just a cold call. He said, "No, you must’ve contacted a third party who gave us your details." I wasn’t having it - said I knew nothing about any third parties and told him to end the call and never ring me again.

Put them straight on the block cos it looked just like another PPI number I'd seen. I don’t know anyone up in Leeds and they never bothered leaving a voicemail. This sounded pretty legit, it was about the Plevin rule which is an actual thing - basically, if you get a loan or something and they charge commission, but it’s too high, they’re breaking the law. Some guy named Plevin took it to court and now it’s a recognised rule. A mate of mine got £14,000 back from a deal where the company took too much commission. Since I know someone who’s had success with this, and it definitely is a real thing, I’m a bit unsure if I should push it further with the Wyndan Group or just let it be.

Got a call on my phone from someone saying he was Oliver, sounded British too, said he was ringing from a firm in Leeds. He asked for me by name and mentioned something about claiming on mortgages, loans and credit cards taken out after 1980 or something like that. He made it clear it wasn’t about PPI. Said it was some new scheme that might be in the news recently. I told him I hadn’t heard anything and then he said I didn’t qualify when I mentioned I hadn’t had any loans since 1980.
