I told them I didn’t see anything but they insisted they’d stopped it before it hit my account!! Total lie. The number matches the one on the back of the card but don’t be tricked by that. Luckily I looked up the number while they were talking and found this site!!!! Huge thanks to everyone here!!! Could’ve been a nightmare otherwise.

Got a call from 01132421984, guy said he was from Halifax and said someone tried to withdraw £430 from my account for Thorpe Park. He told me the first four digits of my sort code and even said the number he was calling from matched the one on the back of my Halifax card. I checked and he was right. Then I asked for my account number and he couldn’t tell me. I said I’d call the bank myself - turns out the bank said they never called and to just hang up if they ring again. They did call again, I just ended the call straight away. Watch out, they’re pretending to be from Halifax!

Got a call today from someone claiming to be with Clydesdale Bank in Scotland. They even knew the last 4 digits of my card! I rang the Fraud Dept at Clydesdale Bank immediately and told them what happened. They cancelled my card right away. Watch out for this one!

never try to handle emails when you're knackered. seriously, always double-check the sender's email address, even if it looks like it's from a proper company. this one was a total con, a phishing scam trying to nab your info. on your phone, just tap the sender's name to see the real address. it usually turns out to be something dodgy. i didn’t bother doing that once coz i was so tired, and now i’ve had to block my card and order a replacement. it’s unsettling knowing they managed to get hold of my info like that.

Pretending to be Halifax Bank, and they sound really convincing. They call from this Leeds number and 03457203045. It’s definitely a SCAM! They tell you there’s been fraudulent activity on your account and say you need to open a new account so your money can be moved. I just ended the call and blocked both numbers.

I received a phone call on my mobile from a number in Leeds. The person on the other end of the line was polite, but didn't come across as professional as the actual Halifax staff. I expressed my concern by saying, "I'm not comfortable with this situation, nor am I impressed with your manner of speaking!" Shockingly, he then proceeded to hurl a racial slur at me, even though there was no indication of his ethnicity in his accent. He ended the call abruptly and disappeared. Prior to that, he claimed that Sky Insurance had deducted £680 from my account in Birmingham. However, upon checking my account, I found no suspicious transactions. It was all lies, and if I had continued the call, it certainly would have been a ploy to extract money from me.

Some bloke called Jeff Wilkinson said he was from HSBC after I got passed on from Halifax, telling me my account got hacked. He said there was a payment near £300 to a Mohamed or something, then asked for my sort code and stuff so he could sort it out. Told me if I didn’t give it, he’d have to freeze my account for 5 days and send a letter. If it was really HSBC, their name would show up on my phone when they call, but it showed his name instead. Proper scammers, absolute scum these folks.

i got a call from a lady saying she was from Barclays and then tried to get me to send money to bank account sort code 00-00-04 account number 20416266 its a scam, do not trust it!
