I finally connected with a woman named Becky, but she wouldn't respond to simple questions straight away. She said she was in the office but expected me to just give my name without mentioning the charity or what role I had, and why she needed those details. Here in the UK, basic respect isn’t just polite, it’s legally required.

When I rang, the call centre first said they were open but then mentioned they’d be closed from 24th December 2025 until 4th January 2026. However, the email I received said the closure lasts until 5th January 2026. They don’t explain who is eligible to make a referral or why one is necessary, which is pretty confusing. Because of that, I went ahead and did a self-referral since otherwise it feels like discrimination. Honestly, staff really need to double-check their facts - clearly, they haven’t got it right here.
