Some woman called me saying she was from Halifax and claimed I’d put a standing order on my savings account, offering to switch it to my current account instead. I said I’d pop into the branch to sort it out. When I got there, the staff said there was no error and the standing order was definitely set up on my current account. Turns out the phone call was a total scam.
