Just had a call from this number, some bloke claiming to be from BT Call Protect Service saying a new plan was launching tomorrow. Odd thing is, he knew my son's name tied to the account but he's not the one who pays the bills, plus the address he gave me didn’t match and the postcode was off too. I never said if it was correct or not. Told him we already have that service and told him to get lost. He hung up straight away after that. Blocked the number now - smells like a total scam to me.

I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number, but honestly, how on earth do they find out our names and even the card number that’s almost up for renewal? If that’s not some kinda privacy breach, then I’m stumped.

A guy with an Indian accent, said his name was Robin. He was trying to sell me a TPS upgrade, asking for details like my Visa Debit card expiry, name on the card, and the bank. Also wanted my address confirmation. He kept insisting it was free and promised no more annoying calls. When I asked how I could be sure he was legit, he just repeated himself over and over. I wasn’t having it and hung up pretty quick, under two minutes. Not long after, the same number rang again, so I just ignored it and blocked them straight away.

I caught them out cos I know it’s called TPS, not TPM. I told them I was just having a look at them online and then they just hung up! The voice sounded foreign, maybe Indian but I’m not 100% sure. Really watch out for these calls and don’t give away any personal info!

A bloke rang up claiming he could put a stop to all my annoying calls. He said he worked with BT, but then started asking for my credit card details, including expiry and all that, which set off alarm bells for me. When I questioned why they needed that, he said it was just to confirm I was the account holder. They tried to be all funny and casual when I chuckled at their weird demands. i keep getting loads of calls every day asking for a mrs lewis. the address they keep mentioning definitely isn’t mine and i’m not mrs lewis. i told them this a few times but they just hang up. the last one claimed they were from the telephone preference service and could stop these annoying calls if i upgraded my number? that’s not the real tps, which you don’t have to pay for. looks like they just want my info to try and sell me something that should be free anyway.
