Got a call from this number once more today, a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from BT tech support. He said they’d sent an engineer round and even mentioned a call from them. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from an Asian lady who said her name was 'Angelina' (Yeah, right). Claimed she was from BT and needed to disconnect me for 3 days. I said "Go ahead", and she just ended the call. I usually get one quiet call a day, I reckon it might be those lot (too lazy to 1471 the numbers!).

Got a call from 008427775993 on 25.11.2016 around 11:53, it was one of those automated messages just repeating “please d#e.” Really weird.

They said they were with BT but didn’t sound English. I asked where they found my number because I’m on the TPS, and then she just hung up on me! I’ve blocked the number now.

Definitely sounds like a scam! I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent who claimed they were from BT and insisted that they were receiving error alerts every time I logged onto the web. I didn’t stick around to listen; I simply hung up!

This number has called me loads of times, always asking about computer stuff. Once I let the bloke talk, and when I told him I didn't even have a computer, he cheekily asked why I was wasting his time - that gave me a right chuckle. Loads of times the phone rings and when I pick up, it just cuts off with a woman saying 'goodbye'. They ring morning, afternoon, evening, and even weekends.

Some bloke rang up my elderly folks earlier claiming he was from BT and said someone had tried to hack their internet. He asked if they used online banking and whether they got online using a laptop, iPad or computer. It’s awful how these scammers are still managing to pull this off. I've received numerous calls from this number lately. They purport to be from BT, insisting that my broadband will be cut off for a week due to some server issue. They tried to get me to follow a list of steps on my computer to sort it out, but I advise you to steer clear! If they’re the real BT, request a proper 0800 number to ring back. Legitimate companies will always provide you with a contact number. All this number does is hang up on you!

Hi, I’m Philip (yeah right!) from British Telecom about your internet. I told him I knew it was a scam and asked if he wanted me to put him through to the police. He claimed it was legit and offered the head office number to call and verify. That’s when I ended the call.

I've been receiving calls from this number about three or four times weekly. It's quite evident that it's from a foreign call centre. The caller insists they're from the B.T. technical team, notifying me of an issue with my broadband service. She gave me 02032861969. Rang that number and some bloke with an Asian accent picked up, going on about the internet again and said he was in Sri Lanka. Told him to shove off and ended the call.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Indian/Asian, said he was with BT and there was an issue with my computer. But honestly, it was just the exact same spiel as the Microsoft scams. Seriously, I've had nearly 100 calls like this, it's getting ridiculous!!!

This bloke claimed he was from BT, said there was an issue with my internet, but then admitted I wasn’t a BT customer. He went on that all internet services come through BT. I kept asking what he wanted me to do on my laptop and told him I'd hang up if anything seemed off. When I still refused to follow his instructions, he started calling me dumb. I told him it’d be daft to do what he said. After he carried on abusing me, I ended the call.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be BT, sounded like they were from India with the accent. They said there was an issue and my broadband would be cut off for three days. I received a call earlier from a chap claiming to be with BT, my supposed internet provider. He informed me that there was an issue with my internet connection. When I pointed out that BT isn't my actual provider, he insisted that they run the main hub for all internet services. He then threatened that if I didn't resolve this supposed issue, I'd lose my internet access in thirty minutes and wouldn't be able to reconnect for two months. I firmly told him he was being threatening and that this was obviously a scam aimed at getting into my computer. At that point, his tone shifted, and I realised he was certainly not who he claimed to be. I told him to clear off and promptly ended the call. Afterward, I looked up the number he called from and discovered that it's not registered at all.
