I received another call from that same number today, but fortunately, I have recently purchased a BT Guardian phone that effectively blocks these unwanted calls! It's absolutely fantastic because now my phone doesn't ring at all. Goodbye scam calls! One of the great features of this phone is that it allows me to configure it to accept calls only from friends and family, while unknown callers have to identify themselves first. It gives me the choice to answer or not. All other calls are barred from coming through.

Earlier tonight, a call from this particular number came through on my Mobile shortly after 7pm, and then again at 7:40pm on my landline. I'm perplexed as to how they obtained my mobile and home phone numbers, considering both are unlisted. In addition, the person on the other end, who had Asian ethnicity, asked for a specific name. Someone called asking for me by name! Their English wasn't great, and I suspected they were fraudsters. I gave them a piece of my mind and told them off. This all happened at 4.15 pm on a Friday. Remember, it's never wise to share personal information with anyone who contacts you out of the blue.

When I asked where they got my number, they said it’s from a public directory, which I know is rubbish. They said they were from X and on a BT list before hanging up. About an hour later, call number 3 came through, I just hung up again. The moment I answered, an Asian woman shouted at me saying I wasn’t allowed to hang up on her. I ended it again! Seriously, something has to be done about these persistent callers.

They assure me that they will be brief and frugal with their inquiries, but then they begin asking invasive questions about my personal information like age and such. Got a call from some bloke called "Steve" claiming to be from the Savers Club. I told him I’d already asked another guy from there last week to delete our info, but he said he’d tried ringing last week and no one picked up. I told him that wasn’t true because I answered and spoke to someone. Then "Steve" said he’d add us to their no-call list and just ended the call. Honestly, I doubt this’ll be the final time they bother us...
