This number has called me multiple times now.

This number has been calling me multiple times each week, and I’m really at my wit’s end. I finally picked up today, and there was an Indian gentleman on the line who was rambling about something to do with BT. I decided it was best to end the call.

Got a call yesterday and it was totally a scam. They told me my computer had a virus. When I challenged them about it, they got really nasty and started being rude!

For the past few weeks, I've been receiving calls from this number, and when I asked them to send me a letter from BT verifying any problems with the broadband-given that it's a business line-they just hung up on me. Quite unprofessional if you ask me!

Some bloke called me, said his name was Sam, sounded like he’s from India and claimed to be with BT. There was loads of noise in the backround, so I just hung up straight away.

Over the past few days, I've received repeated calls from this number on my fax line. Each time they ring, all they end up reaching is just my fax machine.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach about my internet. It was a woman with a strong foreign accent, deep voice too. Didn’t bother with it, just ended the call straight away.

Got a call just like yesterday, but this time it was a bloke with a funny accent saying he was from BT tech support, saying my computer was shooting off error messages. This con has been going on for years - wonder if anyone still falls for it? I let him yak away for a bit then sneaked the phone down so he ended up chatting to thin air. I rang BT afterwards, but couldn't find my customer number anywhere, so no luck getting the call blocker set up today.

I got a call from a woman who said she was with BT Openreach, telling me there were problems with slow internet around here. She asked me to turn on my computer so she could fix it. I wasn’t convinced it was really BT, so I ended up just hanging up and blocking the number straight away.

Today around quarter past nine, my landline rang and it was a woman speaking with a heavy accent. My phone showed it was from abroad, so I just ended the call before she explained why she was ringing.

Just got a call on my home phone at 12:12 from 00797918 but didn’t pick up since my BT caller ID is a bit spotty and the number didn’t appear. The voicemail beeped and then cut off. I rang 1471 afterwards and that’s the number that popped up. This seemed odd so I looked it up here. Seen all the earlier comments - cheers for the 1572 heads-up, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

Got a call at 8:15am on 9th November from someone saying they were from BT Openreach. They claimed our broadband was running slow and asked about the gadgets connected to our router. I hadn’t reported any issues to my provider, so I told them I doubted they were really BT Openreach and asked where they were calling from. They dodged the question, so I just ended the call. Feels like they might be up to something dodgy - maybe hackers or trying to install malware - because why else would they be so interested in our tech setup?

There’s definitely something dodgy here. The moment I answered, they just cut the call. I flagged it as risky, but if they’d actually said what they wanted, it might even be considered harassment.

After a bit of silence, some kinda voice just said goodbye. I've got the BT blocker, so I called 1572 and got the number blocked. You should get in touch with BT and sign up for this service, it's free and dead easy. Basically, straight after a suspect call, you ring 1572 and they ask if you want to add the last caller to your blocked list. Works a treat!

they just phoned me up saying there’s some problems with my pc and they can sort it out. I told the bloke to ring back when my son’s around, he’s the one who works at BT. not holding my breath they'll actually call back though.

I received a rather dodgy call, purporting to be from BT's technical support. When I asked the chap for my account number, he couldn't supply it, and promptly ended the call. Afterward, I contacted BT, and they confirmed it was indeed a scam.

I received a call from a gentleman with an Indian accent who claimed to be from BT, warning me about some supposed viruses affecting my broadband hub. When I inquired about my name to verify his legitimacy, he was unable to provide it. I promptly ended the conversation and will be reporting this to BT.
