Our house phone line has been receiving calls for over 6 weeks from an unknown number. The individuals calling, who are not introducing themselves, have been claiming that I have computer problems, specifically Microsoft-related virus attacks. Despite repeatedly telling them that this is not true, we continue to receive these calls. As a result, we have now resorted to simply hanging up on every call from this number.

Upon looking at the number, one can tell that it originates from Russia (country code 007). I have also been receiving numerous phone calls recently. Sometimes, I would just let the phone ring without answering. However, today I decided to pick up the call and introduce myself. It turned out to be a woman with a noticeable foreign accent who tried to convince me that my computer had a virus. I kindly asked her not to call me again in the future. She insisted that I had a virus. I repeated my request for her not to call again and hung up. Unfortunately, I know of a close friend who got scammed out of several thousand kroner after giving away their banking details because they believed someone could help clean their computer of viruses. It's a scam!

Ik woon in Denemarken en word lastiggevallen door dat telefoonnummer. Ik besluit nu om niet meer op te nemen, maar in plaats daarvan hem weg te drukken. Het is verschrikkelijk om continu lastiggevallen te worden. Soms gebeurt het zelfs twee keer op een dag. Afgelopen week werd ik wel tien keer gestoord! Is er iemand die hier iets aan kan doen?

Jeg har modtaget 12 opkald indtil videre. Nogle gange bliver jeg ringet op af en dame, andre gange af en mand, der taler gebrokkent engelsk. De påstår, at de er fra Windows og at der er noget galt med min computer. Jeg har bedt dem om at stoppe med at ringe, men de bliver ved alligevel.

The man claimed to be from the Windows 7 rescue team and insisted that I had a computer problem. The ringing was continuous and when it went to voicemail, a man's voice would just repeat "hello hello hello hallloo". One day when I was finally home and the phone rang, I picked up the receiver and he asked for my better half. I hung up... very strange, he has contacted us countless times.

We received a call from the same number 7 hours ago. My husband answered and mentioned that they spoke English. I took the initiative to answer the phone on the third attempt and greeted them with a "hello." However, there was no response from their end, so I ended the call. Surprisingly, we haven't received any more calls since then.

I'm facing a similar issue. There is this person who calls me multiple times every day. I informed him that he is not genuine, but instead of stopping, he continues to bother me by making even more calls. Unfortunately, my phone company is of no assistance. They suggested that I change my number (I use Fullrate). I wonder, what would happen if I answered the call but didn't hang up? Would they be able to end or disconnect the call? On the 18th of October 2013 at 08:45, I received a call from a gentleman who claimed to be from the computer center, informing me about issues with my computer. However, I was skeptical and chose not to trust him. I immediately decided to call the police and ended the conversation.
