Claimed he was with the telephone company, and when I pressed him, he said it was British Telecom. He told me he was going to stop all those annoying nuisance calls from now on, but then began asking for my address and the expiry date on my card. He guessed Barclays, which I don’t even have, then asked me what card it really was, while admitting they’d got the card details and expiry mixed up - how do they even know that, I wonder!
