Some bloke rang up saying he was from BT Openreach, told me my IP had been used for fraud or something. When I asked how he knew that, he just kept going on with the same thing. I said I'd call Openreach myself to check. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a dodgy call, claiming to be from BT Openreach. Rang me and then hung up straight away, no wait or nothing. Definitely a scam.

On the 3rd of Feb, 2017, I fell for a scam call. I'm from the UK and apparently BT has call centres in Asia. First a woman called, then a man, both of them were hard to make out what they were saying. Luckily, they didn't manage to mess with my files or PC at all.

Somebody said they were with BT Openreach trying to sort out my internet, but it was a total scam. Just a heads up for anyone who might get a call like that!

I'm based in New Zealand and have caller ID on my phone. I got a call from a number with an Australian area code. When I tried to ring it back, the line kept busy and I couldn't get through. The caller said they were from Microsoft and claimed my computer had a problem. I asked if I could call him back later, and he said yes, but refused to provide a callback number. He mentioned he was calling from Auckland and even gave me a street name, but I already noticed the number was definitely Australian. During the call, he guided me to open a prompt and type the command "assoc".

Within half an hour, I got two calls. The first was from a lady and the second from a man, both speaking with Asian accents. They claimed to be from Openreach but when I asked for more info, like the account holder's name, they couldn’t give me anything.

For the past couple of days, the phone rang and as soon as I picked up, they just hung up straight away.

Got called by what sounded like an Asian bloke claiming he was from BT, told me there was an issue with my internet. Then, about two days later, the same number rings me again but this time they say they're from Openreach. Also noticed they called from an Aussie number, something like 2227. Bit fishy if you ask me.
