Got a call not long ago from some bloke claiming there was an issue with my internet because of error messages on my computer. I told him I only use phones and tablets, no computer at all. Then this Indian fella said they could sort it remotely and just hung up on me. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I've experienced precisely the same thing! Received three calls, and the first pair had silence on the line. One caller claimed that I was a victim of hacking and that my emails were being read and subjected to phishing attempts. He insisted he could put a stop to it. I replied that I would reach out to my service provider personally to discuss it and didn’t divulge which company it was. I made it clear that if there were any real issues, they'd likely get in touch with me. This site is simply brilliant! Kudos to the team behind it!

Got a call earlier today at 1:09 PM, there was this weird pause and then silence. The person on the line had a foreign accent and said they were ringing from BT Holborn, London. They kept saying my internet would be cut off in two hours if I didn’t get back to them. I ended up handing the phone over to my husband.

Got a call from this number today, came up as an Australian one. The bloke claimed he was from BT and kept going on about how my system had been hacked and he wanted to fix it. When I questioned where he was based, he said London, but when I pointed out the phone number was international, he just cut me off without a word of goodbye. I was about to ask if I could assist him instead! There were a couple of calls earlier on, perhaps just trying to check if someone would pick up or maybe they were using some kind of random number generator to find a live phone or computer.

Hello there, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a chap named James claiming to be from BT, insisting that there were issues with both my computer and my internet connection. The thing is, I'm not even a BT customer; my service is handled by another provider. Given my background in IT, I managed to keep James chatting for a staggering 16 minutes, during which it became increasingly clear he was merely fishing for a chance to remote into my system and pull off a scam. I urge anyone who gets a call from this number to take it with a pinch of salt-either hang up immediately or lead them on for a bit, but under no circumstances should you grant them access to your device! Stay vigilant!

At about 7.50 this morning, I got a call from this number. A guy with an Indian accent told me my internet would be cut off in a couple of hours. He claimed to be from BT, so I made sure to note down the number and will be reporting it to BT straight away.

Even though I`ve been on the TPS list for ages, this number has phoned me three times already today, starting at about 8.30 in the morning. Whenever I answer, there`s just silence on the other end, then out of nowhere a voice comes on and says `goodbye`. Really frustrating!

This number rang me twice earlier today, with a guy claiming my computer was hacked and telling me to grab paper and a pen to follow his instructions. I quickly figured it was a scam and asked who he really was. He then threatened to cut my internet within a couple of hours. The bloke spoke with an Indian accent. Definitely don’t trust this call!

so this guy named Mark phoned while i was tied up, he spoke with an indian kind of accent and claimed he was from BT. told him to ring me later. looked the number up and found out its a landline registered at Pacific Way in Gosford, NSW, Australia. dont pick up if u see this number, he’s probably gonna try messing with your computer!

today, Ive been getting calls off this number quite often, like every 15 to 20 minutes from about half past 9 till just after 11. whenever I pick up, theres no one there talking and then after around 10 seconds the call just drops. before it ends, a robotic female voice snaps out "goodbye". these calls seem aimed at the 01277 area code, thats Ongar in essex. im a talktalk user and its definitely ringing my line loads.

this number keeps ringing me, like about every hour today. I pick up but all i get is some kind of crackling sound, no one talking on the other end. it sounds like a dead line or maybe a robot dialling cause after a bit it just cuts off with a weird buzzing noise. and then I hear that usual automated voice saying ‘please hang up’ right before the call ends. really strange and kinda annoying.

Today, I’ve been bombarded by a number that keeps ringing me in quick succession from around 09:30 to 11:14 (30/01/2016). The calls come through every 15 to 20 minutes, yet there’s never anyone on the other end. After about 10 seconds, the line abruptly disconnects, and I get an automated female voice coldly announcing, "Goodbye." This is coming from the 01277 area code, which is linked to Ongar in Essex, UK, and the number belongs to a TalkTalk customer. Given the lack of conversation and the recurrent nature of the calls, I can't help but think it’s some sort of auto-dialling system at play. The only reason I see for these annoying interruptions would be to hope that you call them back, potentially racking up an expensive bill. Interestingly, it appears this number traces back to either Indonesia or Australia.

Got a call from some bloke called Dave on 006124351120 at around 10:30 this morning. He said he was from BT, claiming my line was seriously damaged and they’d be disconnecting it in a couple of weeks if I didn’t sort it out. Then he wanted me to turn on my computer, which I refused to do. I asked for a number to call back on, but he just hung up straight away. Definitely looks like a scam, so watch out folks!

I got a call today at about 9.37 from 0061243541120. The bloke said he was from BT and that apparently someone had hacked into our computer. He warning me they were going to cut off the service for two hours. Then he asked me to switch on my computer, which I told him no to and just to go ahead and turn off the service instead. After that, he just hung up without a word. Felt like he was trying to get control of my computer to steal passwords or something.

On the 27th of January, our landline rang about six times. As soon as we picked it up, we were greeted by a pre-recorded message that simply said 'goodbye'. Quite odd, really!
