Got three calls coming from this number yesterday, and every time I picked up there was nothing but silence.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Windows tech team. When he started explaining stuff, I just kept saying "Oh, that's quite something" a few times. He went over the same thing three times and each time I responded the same way. Then he asked if I had a computer, I told him I don't own one. After that, the call ended. Fingers crossed I won't get called by him again!

I didn't pick up the call at the time, but upon later inspection, I'm glad I let it ring. You see, I was upstairs and, with my osteoarthritis flaring up, it was quite a struggle to navigate my way down to grab the phone. So, avoiding the call turned out to be the smarter choice after all!

I received a call earlier today from a chap claiming to be Martin from BT Openreach. He mentioned that there was an issue with my laptop, which I must admit is quite accurate. Being of a mature age, I ended up chatting with him for a rather foolish 40 minutes as he pretended to assist me. I started to feel a bit dubious when he mentioned a supposed £204 refund from BT, yet he was rather insistent on obtaining my bank account information. Cautiously, I refused to share my details. Then, he connected me to a so-called supervisor who urged me to enter my bank's name. I playfully provided a fake one, and to my surprise, he confirmed that it was all correct. I eventually confronted him about his deceitful tactics, and he resorted to some colourful language before abruptly hanging up. I found the whole situation quite convincing until I rang BT directly and discovered that such scams are becoming alarmingly common.

I received a call from someone who claimed they were reviewing my phone settings, inquiring whether I still had everything configured. I found it a bit suspect, so I decided to hang up. It felt like they were really pushing for a positive response from me! Such a bother, honestly!

I received numerous calls demanding my bank information, and I found the tone quite aggressive. That’s when it hit me that I was likely dealing with a scam. Thankfully, I didn’t get caught up in it. They claimed to be from a phone service provider. Just a heads-up, stay vigilant!

I was approached by someone looking for my banking information. They became quite angry when I declined to share anything. Their persistence was rather unsettling.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be about the TPS, said he needed my BT details and Direct Debit info. I refused, told him to send anything in writing cos I’m not giving out personal stuff on the phone. He got really annoyed and started shouting. I told him that after signing up to TPS once, there’s no need to update or register again. Then he just hung up on me. Don’t hand over any details to this guy!

Got a call from a bloke looking for Miss S Mann, though I reckon he meant Mrs Mann. After that, he just went silent. Feels like they were just checking if it's a personal number or something.

I received a call from this number, and to my surprise, they were aware that my phone bill gets settled via direct debit. They even mentioned the expiry date of my card! Do you think it's worth reporting this?

I've received calls from this number at least six or seven times today! I don’t usually pick up the home phone, and every time the answerphone kicks in, they hang up. I'm quite curious to find out who's behind this!

I received a call from a chap named 'John', who claimed to be representing Microsoft concerning my computer. I swiftly informed him that I didn't possess one and politely ended the conversation. Generally, I tend to disconnect before the caller gets a word in, as there’s often a few moments of awkward silence at the start. I typically dial 1471 afterwards to confirm it's not someone I recognise trying to reach me.

Received a call today, but thankfully my Call Guardian stepped in and prevented it from getting through. I'm rather pleased with that, as my Guardian informed them to leave a message, meaning they had to foot the bill for the call. I reckon if more of us had a Call Guardian service (I use BT), we could really hit these nuisance callers in their pockets. This week alone, I’ve had eight calls from numbers that ended up being blocked, despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which these pesky callers seem to disregard completely. While it’s frustrating to be targeted like this, I do take some satisfaction in knowing it’s costing them money.

I just told them I was noting down their number and then they hung up straight away. From what I’ve read in other reviews, it sounds like a scam, maybe phishing, targeting women’s voices for some dodgy scheme. I always try to sound unwelcoming when I pick up.
