Got three calls coming from this number yesterday, and every time I picked up there was nothing but silence.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Windows tech team. When he started explaining stuff, I just kept saying "Oh, that's quite something" a few times. He went over the same thing three times and each time I responded the same way. Then he asked if I had a computer, I told him I don't own one. After that, the call ended. Fingers crossed I won't get called by him again!

I didn’t pick up at first but later looked into it and realised it was right not to. I was upstairs at the time, struggling a bit because of my osteoarthritis, so getting to the phone downstairs was a proper challenge!

I got a call earlier from someone saying he was Martin from BT Openreach. He mentioned my laptop had some sort of issue, which is true, so I stayed on the phone for about 40 minutes while he said he was sorting it out. Being older, I don’t really get computers. Things got fishy when he claimed I was due a £204 refund from BT and asked for my bank details, but I didn’t give them. Then Martin handed me over to his "supervisor," who asked me to type in my bank’s name. I just made one up and he said everything looked fine. I called him out as a scammer, and he started swearing before hanging up. It seemed real enough at first. I checked with BT, and they told me these scams have been getting more common lately.

Got a call from someone saying they were checking my phone settings and asking if everything was still in place. Felt a bit off, so i just hung up. They kept trying to get me to say yes, like it was super important or something. Proper pain, really!

I received numerous calls demanding my bank information, and I found the tone quite aggressive. That’s when it hit me that I was likely dealing with a scam. Thankfully, I didn’t get caught up in it. They claimed to be from a phone service provider. Just a heads-up, stay vigilant!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be about the TPS, said he needed my BT details and Direct Debit info. I refused, told him to send anything in writing cos I’m not giving out personal stuff on the phone. He got really annoyed and started shouting. I told him that after signing up to TPS once, there’s no need to update or register again. Then he just hung up on me. Don’t hand over any details to this guy!

I've had this number ring my landline about 6 or 7 times today, but I never pick up. The moment my answering machine kicks in, the call just stops. I'm really curious to find out who they are.

Some bloke called me, said his name was John and claimed he was ringing from Microsoft about my PC. I told him I don’t even have a computer, thanked him and then ended the call. Usually, I cut off the call right away if there’s a pause before they say anything. I also dial 1471 to check if it’s someone I recognise before answering.

Somebody rang pretending to be from BT, saying I needed to download a file to fix my broadband. I called the real BT support afterwards and they warned me it was a scam that could let them take control of your PC. Proper dodgy situation!

Got a call earlier today but my Call Guardian jumped in and stopped it dead. I’m quite chuffed about that since when my Guardian told them to leave a message, it meant the caller had to foot the bill. If everyone had something like the Call Guardian (mine’s through BT), these nuisances would start paying up. This week alone, I’ve had 8 calls blocked from various numbers, even though I’m signed up to the Telephone Preference Service - but of course, these lot just don’t care. Annoyed they ring, but at least it’s costing them, not me.
