Definitely a scammer, watch out!

I got a call from a woman with an accent that wasn’t British, here in Germany. She said there were issues with my Windows PC and wanted me to switch it on, but I said no. To convince me, she rattled off my registration code, but she spoke so quickly it was hard to catch. She kept trying a few times... But I’m actually on Linux, so no Microsoft stuff for me.

Got a call from a guy who said his name was John, had a really strong Indian accent and claimed he was from Microsoft saying there was an issue with my PC. I had nothing better to do so I played along, asking him silly stuff like how to switch it on. After about 10 minutes, he told me to f### o##, so I gave back the same. The scam scene from that region is really booming. Blocked the number straight away.

Just got a call about 3 hours ago from a guy named William, said he was with Talk Talk and my router had issues. Could be worth letting President Trump know about these, seems like the kind of calls used for ISIS fundraising or something dodgy like that.

I didn’t pick up but I’m totally sure it’s a scam. I got loads of calls like this, about 30 just last week. Once my new phone with the call blocker is charged, hopefully I’ll finally get some peace! It’s a shame I have to spend £130 on gear just to avoid this hassle. Surely there’s someone who can sort this out properly. I’ve even spoken with Ofcom and the Information Commissioner, but they only handle nuisance calls within the UK.

This number keeps ringing me up and it’s proper annoying. They start all polite, chat a bit then suddenly they say there’s something wrong with my computer and bring up BT. They try to get me to turn on my PC but no way am I doing that. When I tell them I’m not even a BT customer they just brush it off like it’s no big deal. They’re wasting their time trying to get me to switch my computer on!

Kept him going for ages before he caught on that I was having a laugh. It's kinda satisfying to mess with those scammers, but in the end, it’s just like shouting into the void :)

Got a call today from a bloke with a Pakistani accent claiming there was a problem with my tax return and that I owed HMRC £6948. He warned me if I didn’t pay, they’d take me to court and I could end up with a criminal record. Said I had to pay that amount using a prepaid credit card from WHSmith! I just ended the call straight away. Be wary out there, folks.

Got a call from 005749055110, sounded like a foreigner. They said my computer had viruses or something. Another one of those scam calls, really dodgy and probably risky if someone fell for it. I’ve blocked the number using BT Call Protect so hopefully won’t get bothered again.

Had a spam caller ring me up, no words just silence, then they rang back again. They use a mobile number so it's tough to tell where they’re calling from. Most likely from places like Pakistan or India where they try to fool you saying your computer is infected with a virus and has big problems. Watch out, a lot of these scammers will mess up your PC for good if you let them run syskey.exe. Syskey locks the password information with 128-bit RC4 encryption, normally stored in your Windows registry, but they can lock it down so you can’t ever get into your computer again. Be very cautious!

Got a really annoying call at 12.24pm on Saturday 14th January 2017. I've had my number on the TPS list for more than 25 years, so I was pretty sure it was against the law to ring me up. Seriously, why are these annoying calls still happening? Why isn’t anyone taking action against these rubbish telemarketers?

Some bloke phoning up saying he was from BT, asking about my broadband and saying he needed to check my account! I wasn’t having it at all. Told him straight he’s not really from BT and then he just ended the call!

This number has rung me up three times already. First call, they claimed there was an issue with my computer, something about Windows 10. Problem is, I don’t even run Windows 10, and haven't got any problems with my PC at all. Told them so and ended the call. The other two times, it was just a couple of rings then silence, one of those calls came quite early in the morning too. Bit odd if you ask me.

Got a ring earlier from this number, some woman with an accent that was really hard to follow, claiming she wanted to chat about my internet. I told her straight up that my internet's no concern of hers and told her to bugger off. Luckily my mum was nearby or I would've let her have it a lot worse!

Got a call this morning around 9:30. The bloke on the other end had a strong Asian accent and started off by asking how I was - classic scammer chat. He claimed there were loads of error alerts on their Windows server linked to my PC and said he could fix the problem. I told him I don’t even run Windows and then basically told him to jog on, just less politely!

I missed the call coz I wasnt home, so no idea who was trying to ring me. Looks like some foreign number, so I just ignored it straight away. Used my CPR Call Blocker to make sure it cant call me again (got it off Amazon). If you wanna stop random calls bothering you, this gadget is pretty handy.

Its crazy how many so called "companies" call from this number. I got one from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Norton Internet Security. I told him theres no way I’m lettin him on my computer and dropped the call. This is the 4th call ive had from this number in just 30 minutes, some of them showed up as "international" and others just said "number unavailable." Such a hassle!

This number called me twice within two days. The first time, a guy with an Asian accent claimed to be from BT Internet. He even mentioned my email address, saying there was an issue with it. I told him he wasn’t actually from BT (I used to work there), and he just ended the call. Then today, someone called "John" from the same number pretending to be from Norton Security. I told him the same thing and he hung up straight away. Definitely scammers, watch out!

Some kind of 'computer issues' call or something ???????????? Can someone please find a way to put an end to these calls??

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Accident Compensation UK, said he was working out of Leeds. He said he could help me get some compo for an accident I supposedly had in the past couple of years. Thing is, I haven’t been in any accident. When I mentioned that I’d looked at their website and it clearly said they don’t do cold calls and warned about scammers, he just put the phone down on me. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

This number called me around 9.45 this morning. The guy sounded like he had an Indian accent and claimed he was working for BT. He warned me that hackers from Asia were trying to get into my computer. I asked him for a contact number, and he said he was based in BT’s Manchester office, giving me 0161 818 9787. After I ended the call, he rang me back and started speaking in a really aggressive way. When I checked my caller ID with 1471, the number 00579055110 showed up.

I got a call saying I was owed money for hidden fees from my bank over the past 20 years. They claimed 'my Government' handed over my info to them. When I asked to be taken off their contact list (I might have been a bit rude), a supervisor rang me back asking why I was upset! They often speak over you when you try to explain (and the first person told me to ‘buzz off’). Honestly, they’re pushy and really aggressive with their approach.

Today, I received a rather dubious call from this number. The caller, who identified himself, claimed I was eligible for a complete reimbursement of my bank fees - quite astonishing, really! He mentioned that the money would be sent via cheque and had my address to boot. When I expressed my disbelief, he started moaning on about PPI, insisting that I ought to consider it. I firmly told him it was absolute nonsense! "You hang up first!" he commanded, but I shot back with, "No, you’ll do it like you always do!" After a rather awkward silence, he finally ended the call.

I used to be a copper myself. On the 1st of October, exactly at 10 in the morning, this number called me. A bloke answered speaking some Asian language I couldn’t recognise before he just cut the call. From what I gather about how phone scams work, if you don’t say a word to these con artists, they can’t do much. They’ve no clue where you live or who you are at all. My tip? Get yourself a phone with PhoneBlocker, trust me on this.

Got a call from this number today, showed up on my caller ID. The bloke asked for me by name and said he wasn’t from Talk Talk, but from some company called Micro Assist Co. He claimed they were trying to help block scam calls and wanted to install software on my computer to fight these scammers. I told him my PC was off and asked for his contact details instead. He gave me the number 02033867758 and a name to go with it. Of course, both numbers turn up as scam alerts when I checked. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a dodgy call the other day, some bloke ringing a business line pretending to be from TalkTalk, which isn’t even our ISP. I told him we weren’t interested. Then he tried to scare me, saying they’d cut off our internet if I didn’t do something. I was like, “How’s that possible? TalkTalk isn’t our provider.” Suddenly he switched his story, saying he worked for Openreach and threatened to disconnect us. I called him out on the switch-up. He then claimed the phone number was on file and that they’d cut the internet. I told him that number just rings and we don’t even get internet through it. After that, he just hung up. Shame, I was getting quite a laugh out of winding him up.

It appears that there’s been some information floating around regarding individuals who have invested in American stocks, with these firms reaching out to swindle more cash from unsuspecting people. They’re luring them in with enticing promises of returns on their investments, and it’s rather concerning, to say the least.

I checked out answerphone.it and all i heard was loads of people chatting on different phones. It went on for about half a minute then shut down. Definitely seemed like some kind of overseas call.
