I received a call from a woman who definitely didn’t have a British accent while I was in Germany. She claimed there were issues with my Windows PC, urging me to power it up. I wasn’t having any of it and politely declined. In an attempt to convince me, she rattled off my registration code, speaking at an alarming pace to throw me off. She repeated her spiel multiple times, but little did she know, I’m a Linux user and steer clear of Microsoft entirely.

I’m utterly fed up with receiving calls from this number. They kick off with all the polite chit-chat, then promptly dive into some spiel about computer issues, referencing BT. They insist on me firing up my computer, which I have no intention of doing. When I inform them that I’m not actually a BT customer, they brush it off like it’s nothing. Honestly, there’s no way I’m going to power on my computer for them!

I received a phone call from this number claiming to be from BT, asserting there was an issue with my broadband service. They asked me to sit at my computer, but when I declined, the caller turned quite vile, hurling threats and foul language at me. A short while later, they rang again to carry on with the verbal assault. Quite shocking behaviour!

Kept him going for ages before he caught on that I was having a laugh. It's kinda satisfying to mess with those scammers, but in the end, it’s just like shouting into the void :)

I received an annoying call at 12:24 on Saturday, the 14th of January, 2017. My number has been on the Telephone Preference Service for more than 25 years! I was under the impression that it was against the law to call individuals who have opted into the TPS. Why on earth is no one taking action against these bothersome individuals?

Got a call from some guy with an Asian accent, said he was ringing a busy number. Then he started calling me a dog and singing “who let the dogs out woof woof woof,” which made me chuckle a little. Bit sad really, especially when you catch them out for trying to scam you.

This guy with an Asian accent rang me telling me there was an issue with Microsoft and said I needed to log onto my computer. There was lots of noise in the background, like other people talking and making calls, so it was hard to understand him. I just ended the call and blocked the number.

I've just received a call on my landline. I never pick up for numbers I don’t recognise. Curiosity got the better of me, so I looked up the number online and stumbled upon a plethora of comments about it! How on earth do they obtain our contact details?

Rang me at 08:09. Sorted, blocked now.

This number rang me twice in quick succession. When I picked up, there was absolutely no sound; just a strange pause before an automated voice piped up with a polite ‘goodbye’. It’s rather dodgy, to be honest, as I hardly ever share my landline with anyone. I’ve decided I won’t be answering this one again.

A woman with an Indian accent called us earlier today, claiming that there was some unauthorised download on our computer. She suggested it might be from our son's laptop, as we don’t actually own one ourselves! She mentioned she'd ring back tomorrow morning. What a nuisance!

They rang me at 7:45 in the morning and when I picked up, there was total silence on the other end.

Said they were calling from Microsoft regarding my Windows program.

This morning, I received a call from this number. An Asian lady with a thick accent was keen to chat about my internet service. I firmly told her that my internet affairs were not her concern and asked her to kindly bugger off. Honestly, if my mum hadn't been around, my choice of words would have been rather more colourful!

I missed the call coz I wasnt home, so no idea who was trying to ring me. Looks like some foreign number, so I just ignored it straight away. Used my CPR Call Blocker to make sure it cant call me again (got it off Amazon). If you wanna stop random calls bothering you, this gadget is pretty handy.

Just updated my Norton subscription this afternoon and about half an hour later got a call from this number! I didn’t pick up and it went straight to voicemail. They didn’t leave any message. Looks like a typical scam, watch out everyone!

I've received numerous calls from this number, but since I have caller ID, I tend to ignore them. They never bother to leave a message, which makes me think whatever it is can't be all that urgent.

Received a call this morning before eight, from a gentleman who seemed to have an Indian accent. He appeared to be inquiring about computer-related matters. I ended up disconnecting the call. It can be rather unsettling to get such calls when you're alone, I must say.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who asked if he was speaking to me, using my name. I said yeah, and he just said "that's nice" and hung up straight away. Was just about to tell him to buzz off but didn't get the chance. Anyone have any idea what that could be?

Got a ring from this number, my dad picked up and they asked him three things: if he was Mr ..? if he was at .postcode.? and if he’d ever had a mortgage before? then they just dropped the call.

Received a call that went completely quiet at 10:03 on the 13th of October, 2016. Quite odd, really.

This morning around half past nine, I got a call from a chap who I reckon had an Indian accent. He claimed to be calling from BT and warned me that hackers from Asia were attempting to breach my computer security. I asked him for a contact number, and he provided me with one, saying he was located in Manchester: 0161 818 9787. After I hung up, he rang me again, this time his manner had shifted to quite aggressive. When I checked the caller ID by dialling 1471, it showed the number 00579055110. Quite the dodgy situation, isn’t it?

Today, I received a rather dubious call from this number. The caller, who identified himself, claimed I was eligible for a complete reimbursement of my bank fees - quite astonishing, really! He mentioned that the money would be sent via cheque and had my address to boot. When I expressed my disbelief, he started moaning on about PPI, insisting that I ought to consider it. I firmly told him it was absolute nonsense! "You hang up first!" he commanded, but I shot back with, "No, you’ll do it like you always do!" After a rather awkward silence, he finally ended the call.

Seems like the government handed over my number to these lot as I'm on some list they provide to sort refunds for sneaky charges! Well, isn't that just my luck?

As a former police officer, I had quite an intriguing experience earlier today at exactly 10 o’clock on the dot, October 1st. A chap called from this number, and he was jabbering away in an Asian language that I couldn't quite place, before abruptly ending the call. From my time in law enforcement, I've gathered that if you avoid engaging with these dubious characters, they really can't make any headway. They haven't a clue about your identity or your address. I’d strongly recommend looking into a phone equipped with a Call Blocker feature to keep these nuisances at bay.

Received a dubious call today from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk, despite the fact that they're not even our internet service provider. I kindly informed him that I wasn't interested in what he had to say. Surprisingly, he claimed that if I didn’t take action, our internet would be disconnected. I promptly pointed out that TalkTalk isn't our provider. Out of the blue, he switched tactics, now insisting he was affiliated with Openreach and continued to threaten our internet service. Not one to back down easily, I questioned his sudden change of allegiance. He then insisted that he had our telephone number and that he'd disconnect our service. I found it rather amusing to tell him that the number he was fiddling with was actively ringing - as we have several lines, and none of them are hooked up to the internet. At this, he abruptly ended the call. Too bad, as I was rather enjoying giving him a run for his money!

They ring nearly the same time every day, like they never get the hint!

I received a call from a woman in India claiming my computer was experiencing issues. I firmly told her to leave me alone or something along those lines.

Got a dodgy phone call from some bloke called "Jack" with an Indian accent, claiming to be from the "Windows Tech Department" about issues with my PC. Told him I don't even own a computer and he quickly ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent. He said it was about Norton Antivirus and wanted me to speak to his manager. I told him I was onto his scam and to stop bothering me. Then he just cut the call. Seriously, can’t these folks find a proper job instead of this rubbish?

I received a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, working in a rather hectic call centre. She claimed to represent Talk Talk, but funnily enough, that isn't even my internet provider! I decided to play along for a good quarter of an hour while she prattled on about some so-called issue with my computer, insisting that I should download a certain piece of software to resolve it. However, I eventually lost interest, told her that she was nothing but a scammer, and instructed her to take a long walk off a short pier before hanging up.

The website seems to be operational at the moment, but I have my reservations about the callers. They’re asking for nearly 498 euros via Visa upfront before handing over any tickets - what a scam! I refuse to be conned!

Tried calling back to find out who it was, but ended up hearing a message saying the number doesn't exist. Quite the mystery, really!

My phone has been getting calls from this number every single day. I’ve decided not to pick up, especially since it’s coming from Columbia, which suggests it’s likely a scam of some kind. Best to ignore it!

We’ve just received a call from this number. After dialing a nine like instructed, the phone started ringing shortly after. We hung up around the 50-second mark. We're a bit puzzled as to what this is all about, but we sincerely hope it doesn’t end up costing us anything! Just to mention, we’re residing in the Netherlands as well.

It appears that there’s been some information floating around regarding individuals who have invested in American stocks, with these firms reaching out to swindle more cash from unsuspecting people. They’re luring them in with enticing promises of returns on their investments, and it’s rather concerning, to say the least.

I checked out answerphone.it and all i heard was loads of people chatting on different phones. It went on for about half a minute then shut down. Definitely seemed like some kind of overseas call. I really wish these calls would just stop. I don’t pick up any international or unfamiliar numbers nowadays and have told my mates to do the same. If they really need to reach me, just leave a message and I’ll ring back.

I informed him that there was no one by that name residing here, to which he rather brazenly asserted that I was being dishonest. I firmly told him to take a hike and ended the call, only to have him ring me again. This time, I warned him that I'd be reporting him to the constabulary. After that, I cut him off once and for all. It seems there's an elaborate scamming operation afoot, employing various numbers to carry out their dubious activities.
