Some bloke named Jack, with a heavy Asian accent, kept hassling me nonstop saying he was working with PlusNet and could give me better broadband deals as a loyal customer. He gave me the number 0845 561007. Then he handed me over to Adrian, who said they weren’t linked to PlusNet at all. I told him I wasn’t interested. Jack rang me back and kept pushing, but I cut him off, said 'no', and ended the call. Total waste of time, annoying and suspicious.

Got a call from some shady outfit called "Uni-Plus Telecom". I told the man, who sounded Asian, that I wasn’t interested in their offers but he just kept shouting down the line, accusing me of having a bad attitude and saying “no” wasn’t the right answer. These cold calling firms like this should seriously be shut down. If I wanted a deal, I’d look for a proper telecoms company I recognised, not some random offshore call centre. When I tried ringing back to moan, they said I didn’t have an account with them so couldn’t make a complaint. Ridiculous.

They also called from 05684466666, and I spoke with an Asian woman named Lisa who was really pushy. I couldn’t get a say in the conversation, and when I finally asked “which country is your company based in,” she dodged the question and just started telling me about the £9.99 monthly line rental offer. Totally feels like a scam. What’s spooky is that she seemed to know loads about the calls my family do and don’t make.

Got a call from Uniplus Telecom earlier, spoke with someone named Alex who had an Asian accent. He pitched me a deal that sounded pretty tempting. I told him I'd look up the company online before deciding and asked if he could call me back on Monday. He kept saying that even though I’m on a home line and not a business, the offer was still valid for me. Did some digging on their site and found some dodgy reviews. Lucky I looked it up first! If it sounds too good, it probably is!

These people are definitely shady. They go by different company names too. One of them even has a birthday on Christmas Day - must be Santa or something. I can't understand how they keep getting away with cold calling and ripping people off without getting caught. Maybe if someone actually dealt with these scammers, it would uncover a whole lot more trouble.

A mate got a call from Uniplus but they acted like they were from her usual phone company. She said yes, and the next day some forms turned up in the post, including a direct debit mandate. It was obvious they’d just been printed off at home - the spelling and grammar were shockin’. Watch out for these lot!

Got a call today, and as soon as I said the boss wasn’t in, they just hung up. After checking the comments here, I did some digging on Uniplus Telecom and guess what? In their code of practice under “Complaints procedure,” it says if you’re not satisfied with the response from the Daisy rep, you can ask for the issue to be escalated. So does that mean Uniplus is part of this big UK firm called Daisy?? Apparently Daisy hires outside companies to sell their stuff as "partners." Maybe Daisy should step in and fix this mess.

I received a call from a firm named Unicom, proposing to lower my phone line bill to just £9.99 a month for a period of two years. After a while, I decided to hang up, but they soon rang me back a couple of times, though I chose not to pick up. Got a call right as I was walking in. Used 1471 to check, but the number wouldn’t ring back. My mate, who was with me, also got a call from these tosser’s pretending to be IT support. I received a rather questionable call from someone claiming to be my former director, using the You/TPS registered number. After ringing back through 1471, I was prompted to hang up - extremely suspicious, if you ask me. Shortly after that, I got some dodgy advice purporting to be from PayPal! Just as I was about to step through my front door, my phone chimed away, only to cut off abruptly. Now I find out that when calling back via 1471, it’s apparently best to hang up - which feels a bit fishy, if you ask me! I’ve done a bit of digging and it seems there are some rather dubious characters involved in customer support out there. I wonder when the Telephone Preference Service actually got set up and isn’t it a bit suspect that I just got some shady PayPal scam pop up immediately after?
