Got a call the other day from an unknown number showing up as "International" on my caller ID, or sometimes even "Number withheld" or some random foreign digits like 005636691478. I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who already knew my name and address. She claimed she was calling from a company called People to ask some questions. When I asked her which company she was calling from, she said I was wasting her time and then just hung up. Honestly, who’s really wasting time here?

I get calls a couple times daily from these lot, asking after someone who's been dead for over a decade now. When I explain that, a few just cut off straight away. But some launch into the whole "we're not selling anything" routine, and I just tell them to stop calling me then put the phone down. Reporting them to TPS is pointless since the number’s from abroad - 0056, which is Chile’s code.
