Just a few days ago I got a call from 005603669724. It was a woman apparently from India, and honestly she went on forever! I couldn’t make out what she was saying at all. Then she asked for my bank info, and I said absolutely not before hanging up. This same number has called me loads of times last year and even this year. Never ever share your bank details with anyone on calls like this, or you might end up with some nasty surprises on your bank or credit card statements. That’s what others have warned me too!

Got a call from an unknown number today showing 0056. Didn't pick up since I didn't recognise the international code. After checking, turns out it's North Korea. Probably just some random prank from the Kim Jung Un side, guessing he's got time on his hands!

Got a call where the person babbled on about switching phone companies, but it was all over the place and didn’t make much sense. Couldn't really follow what they were trying to say.

Opton Telecom is a real UK company, but judging by this number, it looks like they've got a call centre abroad handling their calls. They are legitimate, but since I'm on the TPS list, I wasn't happy about getting a cold call from them. I ended up emailing their customer service to warn them I'd report them to TPS if they kept bothering me, and asked them to delete my info from their records. They replied with an apology and confirmation that my details had been removed. They also said they do check the TPS register - apparently not very thoroughly though!

I picked up the phone and some bloke with an Asian accent from “someone or other” telecom started talking. He asked if he was speaking to me by name, then launched into a confusing spiel about broadband and calls that made no sense to me. I told him straight up I didn’t really get what he was on about and just ended the call.

Not sure who called me, but I reckoned it was from abroad without a doubt. I just left the phone hanging and waited ages - around 5 minutes - until I finally heard that irritating 'off the hook' beep. Then I just put it down. Wouldn't mind if they ended up paying for the call themselves!

I got a call from a guy, said his name was Ron and claimed he worked for BT Reach or something, offering to cut my phone bill in half along with the line rental fees. I mentioned I was recording the chat, figured he might hang up but nope, he kept pushing hard and was pretty rude about it. My husband caught wind of it and was not having any of it - told him straight where to shove it.

Received a call from someone with a noticeable accent, claiming to be from OFCOM, offering a bargain deal. When I pressed for details about OFCOM, he suddenly changed his story, insisting he was actually from "OFDOM." Definitely a scam! A quick check on the number revealed he was calling from Chile.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Opton Telecom, supposedly based at 255-261 Horn Lane, Acton, London, W3 9EH. They were pushing me to switch my landline service to their company. When I said I wasn’t about to hand over my bank details to some random caller, who sounded like they were from India, they started giving me a lengthy talk about how bank security works. Then they insisted they weren’t calling from India, but when I asked them what the weather was like in Acton right now, there was an uncomfortable pause - probably enough time for them to google it - before they told me it was 22 degrees. Thing is, I asked about how the weather was, not just the temperature. Later, I checked myself and yeah, it did say 22 degrees, which seemed a bit warm for this time of year.
