Got a call from this number, said it was from Mexico but nothing but silence on the other end. Probably just another scam, better not to answer.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, saying I could get a discount on my phone line rental and calls since I've been with them ages. Then they asked for my direct debit info, which felt dodgy.

Someone rang an old mate of mine pretending to be from BT. He really hates these kinds of phone calls. I told him to just block the number straight away.

I received a call from some bloke claiming to be from BT. He said he needed to prevent dodgy files from downloading onto my PC and insisted I should hop onto my computer to follow his 'instructions.' Otherwise, he warned, my internet would be disconnected for three months. Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me!

Received a call informing me that a prescription I'd ordered had been sent back due to it being unsigned and also unpaid. I had to clarify that being over 60 means I don't pay for my prescriptions.

Got a silent call which was odd, but then I dialled 1471 and managed to get the caller’s number. Quite surprising!

The chap on the phone claimed to represent the technical team at BT, mentioning some supposed issue with my router. When I mentioned I solely use an iPad, his enthusiasm seemed to wane rather quickly. He then suggested I simply power off the router for ten minutes and switch it back on, insisting that would resolve the problem. From the outset, I could tell he was spouting nonsense.

I've been receiving calls from someone claiming to be with BT, trying to get me to sign up for a three-month broadband deal. They've attempted to reach me four times over the past three days, with various callers - Zac, John, and a woman - each time insisting that I should consider their offer. I've made it quite clear that I'm not interested! I've told them to stop calling me, but they just won’t take the hint!

Today I got a call on my home phone from a bloke with a heavy Asian accent who claimed to be from BT's Tech Support. He said my broadband router was sending suspicious data and that my laptop was at risk of malware. He offered to guide me step-by-step to fix the issue if I switched on my laptop. I asked him to prove he was with BT by giving me the serial number of my hub. He couldn’t. So I just thanked him and ended the call.

They keep saying they’re from BT or Microsoft and claim there’s something wrong with my PC. How I reply kinda depends on my mood - sometimes I tell them to call the police instead, or say they’re talking rubbish, or just tell them to shove off. Total nonsense!

The first time it rang, a lady with a pretty strong Asian accent who said her name was Jennifer (!) and that she was from BT answered. The second time, I just stayed quiet and after a moment, an automated voice said 'goodbye' and hung up.

I keep getting daily calls from someone purporting to be from Microsoft, insisting that there’s an issue with my computer. The catch? I don’t even possess a computer! I’ve informed them repeatedly during each call, yet they carry on regardless. It's becoming quite tiresome, and I can't help but feel this is bordering on harassment, if not outright illegal. Is there any advice on how I can put a stop to this nonsense? I'm in dire need of assistance!

I just don’t pick up calls from numbers like this anymore, ‘cause they never bother to leave a voicemail. So I just block the number straight away. Honestly, what are the phone companies even doing about these annoying people? Absolutely nothing, it seems.

Honestly, I just ignore calls from numbers like this now - they never bother to leave a voicemail anyway. As a result, I end up blocking the number straight away. What are these phone providers even doing to catch these idiots? Absolutely nothing, it seems.

A woman called claiming her name was Maureen, which seems to be the go-to name for anyone with an Indian accent ringing up. She said she was from BT's Tech Support. I quickly told her she was lying and ended the call before she could warn me about supposed issues with my broadband, the usual tactic BT’s tech team uses to try and get me to look at my computer's registry and then download some dodgy file. Best to steer clear of that nonsense.

16/11/14 Got a call from someone claiming to be from India or Pakistan, but they were using a fake Mexican number. Yeah right, not buying it! I've blocked this one too (number 39). Seriously, are all these calls just scams? Maybe if they... you know, the usual nonsense.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT's tech department, wanting to speak to the old owner of the house. I asked who it was, and they kept insisting it was BT. Told them the person they were after moved out about five years ago. Just found out the call was actually from Mexico, so it’s definitely some dodgy scam going on here.

Received a call purporting to be from the technical team at Microsoft. They insisted their servers had picked up multiple errors on my computer. They promised to provide identification numbers and more “insight” if I complied with their requests. I firmly told them there was no way I would entertain that nonsense. After a bit of back-and-forth in their attempts to sway me, they finally hung up.

I've been getting calls from this number quite a few times, but today was the first time I actually answered. A woman with an accent knew my last name and said she was trying to fix problems on my computer. I told her I wasn't interested and ended the call straight away.

I told him I wasn’t interested and warned him his computer might need shutting down instead! Hung up right after. Cheers, John M.

Got a call just now from some bloke with a foreign accent claiming to be from Visa. He said there was a $1000 transfer to Pakistan I needed to confirm. When I asked him for the account details, he said he couldn’t share them. Told him to call back when he had proper info. Total scam if you ask me.

Received an unsolicited call regarding some supposed visa dealings. As soon as I pointed out that I could see through her ruse, she claimed that £700 would be charged to my card and then abruptly ended the call. What a dreadful individual! They just phoned me a moment ago. I mentioned that we’re all Mac users in the house (my daughter mainly), and Windows isn’t really our thing. Didn’t seem to matter to them one bit. I told the guy straight up that I was onto their scam and ended the call. Oddly enough, my partner said he got a call last week from some foreign centre that was trying to pitch Windows. He might have mixed things up slightly, but he sure did hang up quick!

Got a call at 12.54pm today during lunch, but it was just dead silence at first, then a woman’s voice just said “bye.” Honestly a bit let down because I usually have a laugh messing around with these timewasters and scammers. If a call feels fishy, my advice is just tell them you’re not keen and put the phone down. Simple as that.

Me mum got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying her PC had a virus and if she didn’t act quick, her account would get shut down. Somehow they managed to get in through TeamViewer. Not sure if her laptop’s been properly hacked, but I’m gonna try and check the logs if I can even get in. Now they’ve gone and set a BIOS boot password, so the laptop won’t even start up. I’m 50 and will just have to rebuild it all for her now. Seriously, don’t let these scammers catch you out like this.
