This number rang me and though I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers, on occasion I pick up just in case it’s something urgent. Loads of folks either don’t have caller ID or decide to answer anyway, scared they might miss a crucial call. It’s really sad that some people resort to this, trying to scam others and nick their personal info or even cash. I honestly don’t know how they sleep at night doing stuff like that.

I got two calls from this number earlier today. I couldn’t make out the company they said. When I answered the second time, a guy with an accent I didn’t recognise kept interrupting me in a really pushy way. Got fed up and just ended the call. Honestly, best to just ignore this one if it rings you!

I got a call from a guy who sounded Indian, asking to speak with me. When I asked what it was about, he said he was from ‘Home appliances.’ Since I’d already had calls from similar companies all day, I just ended the call. Some guy, sounded foreign, rang me up and started off by using my name, going on about a free boiler for central heating. I just said I rent my place and then hung up straight away.

This guy keeps ringing me up, and as soon as he hears me, he just assumes I’m Mrs A - who’s actually my partner, we’re not even married! I don’t even get the chance to hear what he wants because I shut him down early. He’s so cheeky, actually telling me I am Mrs A and basically accusing me of lying. Proper rude, honestly.

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from Sky TV. He told me they were going to refund me some money and that they’d sort out my direct debit again. Then he said they’d post two letters to confirm everything he mentioned. He kept pushing that everything was legit. At one point he asked me for my title, but I just stayed quiet and ended the call.

This number has called me twice now. The initial call accused me of illegally downloading some software onto my computer and said they had to verify it. When they phoned again, they said my computer was infected with a virus. I kept requesting some sort of proof that they were actually from BT, which seemed to annoy them quite a bit.

Got a call from this number recently (0051 means Peru, I think) but I don’t answer those calls. That’s the worst move, 'cos it just tells the caller your number’s real, and then it gets sold to every dodgy character online. The reason you get silence on the other end is either because it’s some scummy caller who doesn’t even bother speaking, or they’re using a machine to dial numbers randomly without anyone ready to chat when you pick up. Best thing is to let it ring out and then hang up, then use 1471 to check the last number that called you. A quick Google search will tell you what kind of scam or hassle they're trying to dump on you. For me, nearly every call like this is exactly this sort of rubbish. Honestly, I wish there was a way to chuck all these time-wasting pesters onto some far off planet and just quarantine them for good.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had them ring me up; their usual trick is telling you your Windows is messed up, then pushing you to let them access your computer to "sort" the issue.
I’m convinced if you let them in, it’s trouble waiting to happen, probably something dodgy. I worry that some people, especially those who aren’t so tech-savvy, might end up getting tricked.

Within just an hour, they rang me 8 times - proper harrassment if you ask me.
