004917899839257 Foreign woman, claiming to be BT and calling about the internet. Knew our surname. We put the phone down. BT …don’t think that BT ring unasked! Weird long number too.

Today, I got a voicemail from the number 004530342801, which apparently comes from Afghanistan. The message said I should press 1 or 2 because my card supposedly had £300 and £1500 charged on Amazon, which they claimed was unusual and they needed to protect my money. I wasn’t home when they left the message, and luckily, no other calls came through on my BT landline after that, so I was able to block the number using 1572. This is definitely a scam. Don’t press any buttons, not even to give a rude reply, as it will charge you for the international call.

Got a call from 0046709722518 the other day, but the line was all static and noone spoke. I told them to jog on and the call ended quickly. Seems pretty obvious it’s some scam call centre, maybe from Afghanistan or somewhere like that. They probably just ring loads of numbers and hang up to meet some call target. If you see a number starting with 004, my advice is to just hang up instantly - they’re trying to trick you into giving away your personal details.

My mum got a call from 0048222021085 claiming to be from BT about a refund. Total scam, no doubt.

Got a call from 004 (Afghanistan) and the person claimed they were from Sky.

Claimed to be calling from Eircom and insisted on speaking to my husband using his first name.

Got a call from 004721958375 with a recorded voice saying my Amazon card was charged twice - once £300, then £1100 - and that they didn’t recognise the purchases. It asked me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to talk to an advisor. I thought Amazon stopped doing their own cards ages ago and some other company took over. So, I just ended the call.

Got a call from a number starting with 004 about some Amazon payment. We don't use Amazon at all, so I hit 2 to speak to customer service and when someone picked up, I just told them to "buzz off and quit trying to scam folks" before hanging up.

Got a call today 7-6-23 at 10:02am from 004-721-959825. It was some recorded message saying £1100 was taken from my Amazon or something. It told me to press 1 or 2 for options, but honestly, don’t press anything. Just ignore the SCAMMER altogether!

Got a call from +47 219 51898. Picked up and heard a recorded voice of a posh lady. She was talking about some transactions with Amazon and Visa, telling me to press 1 for details. Didn’t press anything, but just wanted to say this probably a scam, so watch out.

Got a call from 004721953376 about some suspicious card activity - but they never said which bank or card it was about. They mentioned transactions with a gambling site and Amazon. They asked me to press one to confirm the transactions, but I just hung up and rang my credit card company straight away. They said there were no issues or pending transactions. Feels like a scam to me.

Got a call from 004721953821 claiming to be from Virgin, saying my IP address was hacked. They asked loads of stuff like which bank I use and how much money I have there. Luckily, my wife grabbed the phone and stopped it before things got worse. Rang Virgin afterwards and they said it wasn’t them at all. Fingers crossed nothing dodgy happened, but they were really believable.

Claiming to be from Amazon, calling from 004873 208 3929. Likely a scam - rang about suspicious activity on my account. Really unhelpful, wouldn’t reply properly to any questions. Voice sounded Asian but with an English name. Before, they called from a withheld number in Birmingham.

Got a robo call that said it was from Amazon, thought it was dodgy. The number was 00460393004580. I just left the line open and waited till they hung up.

Got a call from 004922652197 around 7:45 yesterday and again today i picked up but no 1 spoke. After checking online looks like its a scam call. Im based in Luton, Bedfordshire UK.

Got a call from a 14 digit number starting with 004, saying it was Amazon about a charge on my account and to press '1' if I hadn’t made any order. I’ve never dealt with Amazon before and these sorts of calls have been coming for months now. Totally a scam, so I just ignored it!

Got a call at 7:30am this morning claiming to be from Visa’s Fraud team. They said there was dodgy activity on my account, something about a transaction in China. They asked if I wanted to cancel or allow it. When I said I’d hang up if the transaction would still go through, they got cagey. I asked for their number so I could ring back, coz I wasn’t convinced. Also asked for a ref number for the “fraud case.” They gave me a bunch of digits and then just ended the call. Suspicious as hell.

Got a call from 0004 91543896869, some automated voice pretending to be 'Bank Security' saying there were dodgy charges on my credit card, like one from Amazon Prime. They told me to press some buttons to talk to an agent, but sounded fishy so I just hung up straight away.

My phone kept ringing and I looked up the number - initially I thought it might be a mate from Germany trying to get in touch with the 0049 code, but after checking with them, they hadn’t called. So I'm pretty sure it’s just a scammer - 00491735283769. These calls are getting really annoying. Honestly, the government needs to do something to block these right from the start or at least protect our numbers so they don’t end up being handed out in those tiny, barely visible terms and conditions.

Over the past day, I've received three calls claiming to be from Bank Security, all starting with 004316 but with different numbers after. They sounded like automated messages. Two calls mentioned supposed recent transactions on my bank card, with identical amounts and from the same companies, which the caller suggested could be suspicious (no kidding!) since I've never dealt with those businesses before! I didn’t pick up the third call, but given the prefix, it seemed to be part of the same scam.

Ugh, another call from 004923, annoyin as ever. Honestly, some places in Eastern Europe just seem like total messes, full of problems and people struggling big time. Sometimes I wonder if the world would be better off without some of these places, they seem stuck in a cycle of poverty and never getting anywhere. So fed up with these calls from such areas!

Got a call from 0049310220024 again, claiming to be Amazon. This is the fifth time it's been a scam, really annoying.

0049362402585 rang me on the house phone, so I answered to check who was calling. Pretty clear it’s a dodgy number since it’s 13 digits long, total scam vibes. If I’d actually talked to them, I’d have told them where to go straight away.

0049442035 called me saying my broadband service had switched from private to personal, but I quickly realised it was a con. Just a heads up, as they tried to get me to let them access my computer. This kind of stuff can really worry older folks like me. Be careful!

Got a call today from 0049441610861477, some bloke claiming there was an issue with my Virgin internet. I told him I wasn’t a Virgin customer and that I don’t sort these problems over the phone due to all the scams going about. Then I asked him to tell me my name, and he just hung up straight away.

Got a call from 004944289044 today, didn’t pick up cos I never answer numbers starting with that kind of code. They didn’t leave any voicemail either, so I’m guessing it’s another scam call like the rest.

They claimed to be Virgin Media, saying there was some suspicious activity on our broadband router that might put our security at risk, and wanted to explain how to sort it out.

Definitely a scammer trying to pull a fast one.

Someone said they were testing my BT internet speed. Told me to visit [#]timeline which supposedly lets them access your device remotely. Could’ve easily let them get into my files and stuff.

Got a call and it was some kind of phone scam.

004929 921358 tried to scam me about my broadband. It was a man called James, sounded Indian and you can tell he was in some call centre from all the noise in the back.

Got a call saying they were from BT, warning about some dodgy downloads on my phone and computer... pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got two calls from weird numbers today. First one claimed they were from Microsoft saying my software needed updating. I told him I actually use Apple and he just hung up. Then another bloke said he was from BT, threatening to cut off my internet if I didn’t pay up. I said I’m not even with BT, and he disconnected straight away. Proper annoying twats.

Just got a message from my bank saying £660's been withdrawn from my account.

I've had 004 ring me like six times already! Then I get one of those scary calls saying I missed a call from my internet company and that my internet will be cut off within an hour!!

Awful bloke claiming to be with Openreach. Got proper hostile when I asked him to prove where he was ringing from. He started threatening to cut the internet. Dunno if he meant just my business or the whole country! Still thinking it over. Luckily no problems yet though.

Got a call from 0042139072510 sayin there was some illegal stuff going on, with a recorded message. Press 1 to talk to one person, or press 2 to speak to a different person. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a voicemail from 00497075217247, some part of it talked about dodgy activity and said our line might get cut off. They told me to press 1 to talk to an Executive or something. Best to just ignore it.

Got a call from 004924229096 claiming to be SKY saying my internet would be cut off unless I logged into my laptop and followed their steps to fix it. I told them I’d rather ring SKY myself to check if anything was wrong. After that, they just hung up on me. Definitely a scam.
