I received a call early this morning at 7:10 from this number directed towards my mum. She struggled to comprehend what they were saying, but it soon became clear it was a dodgy scam attempt. She firmly told them to clear off!

Got four calls from this number today, two times nobody there, once it went to my voicemail but no message was left, then the last call was a guy with an Indian accent saying he was a BT engineer checking on my broadband - I hung up quick when I said I don't have BT internet.

I received a call from this number bright and early at 8 in the morning. When I picked up, there was complete silence at first, and only after a moment did I hear a pre-recorded voice say 'Thank you' before the line went dead. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

Got a couple of calls yesterday and again today. Both times, nothing said, just silence and then some recorded voice saying 'goodbye'. My mum's been getting these now and then for months but she never called 1471 so we couldn’t tell if it’s the same number. She wouldn’t share any info if they asked, but it’s pretty unsettling for her when they call late at night.

I received five calls from this number today. The moment I heard an Asian voice mention my computer, I hung up straight away without letting him continue.

Got three calls on the 24th of November, none left a voicemail. Answered the first one and it was dead silent, then this robotic woman said “Goodbye”. Had to look up the number using 1471.

I recently received a dodgy call from an Asian chap claiming he was representing BT. He insisted that my service was on the verge of being cut off unless I complied with his laptop instructions. I simply told him he was having a laugh and promptly ended the call.

Got a call from some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was with BT. He told me my computer was running slow and they had to switch off my internet, so wanted my info. I told him I wasn’t buying it and he hung up. Then I called 1471 and got this number. Tried calling it back but no answer. The same number rang me again within 10 minutes. Proper annoying and could be risky if I’d gone along with it. This definitely isn’t BT, and he’s not called Gavin!

Just let it ring for a minute and a half without anyone picking up.

Received a call from this number earlier but it dropped before I had the chance to chat with anyone. Cheers for the heads-up about the scam!

This moron keeps ringin me, I usually just let it go cos I reckon it’s a scam. Once I picked up, and they just hung up straight away. I ain’t got caller ID, so could be anyone really. Reading the comments here, feels like it’s some phoney BT bloke trying to get malware on your gear. A mate of mine fell for it, ended up installing some program called supreme on his laptop, and now he’s trying to figure out how to get rid of it.

Like many before me, I received a call from someone with an Indian name-Mark, if I recall correctly. He went on about how I was supposedly going to lose my internet connection, which I found rather amusing. I let him know, rather bluntly, that I'm not gullible and advised him to kindly take his leave.

Just received a call at 10:50 this morning from a chap with an Indian accent. He claimed to be affiliated with BT and warned me that my internet connection was set to be cut off imminently, lasting six months!

I didn’t indulge his spiel any longer; I swiftly hung up on him before he could say another word.

I received a call from an Indian gent claiming to be part of the BT Technical Team, insisting that my computer was riddled with harmful files. I kindly thanked him for the information, explaining that I don’t use BT services and that my device is perfectly fine. However, he became rather pushy, insisting that I wasn’t comprehending the seriousness and that only BT could resolve the supposed issue-no other provider had the capacity! I made it clear that I was aware of the scam, which evidently ruffled his feathers a bit, as he had the audacity to ask me if I was daft! I then requested to hear his name again, to which he cheekily replied ‘Brad Pitt.’ I played along and said I was ‘Angelina Jolie’ and he could chat to my solicitor if he wished! They've been quite relentless, too, as they've attempted to ring me back two more times in just thirty minutes!

I experienced similar phone calls back on the 22nd of September in 2016. The person on the line had an Indian accent and abruptly ended the conversation when I asked for details to be sent to me in writing. They claimed to be located at BT Tower in London. Is it possible they've got call centres there? Sounds very fishy to me!

Much like Jill mentioned earlier, I had a rather curious encounter with an Indian gentleman claiming to be from BT. He ominously warned me that my broadband service was about to be terminated. When I inquired about the reasoning behind this abrupt action, he asserted that I'd been downloading corrupted files incessantly over the past few months. Mind you, we’ve only just relocated two days ago and had our phone line switched on! It was quite irksome, to say the least. Once I expressed my disbelief and adopted a rather sarcastic tone, he promptly disconnected the call.

Just got a call from this number. Normally, I only pick up if it’s someone I recognise, but it’s still a hassle dashing inside to check who's calling. When it’s one of these dodgy calls, and I’ve got a moment, I like to throw out silly questions without waiting for an answer. They quickly hang up and never bother again. Like asking things such as, "Do you think underlay quality has gotten better over the past 23 years? Got any cousins in Romania? Do you grow carrots at home? Are your thumbs clean? Were you fed by breast? Did your grandma fancy peas?” and loads more stuff like that!

I found it utterly absurd, so I promptly ended the call. It’s quite clear it was a dodgy scam, but it’s quite concerning for those who might fall for such tricks.

Some chap with an Indian accent rang me up, pretending to be from BT, insisting that my internet was at risk of being cut off because of some dodgy files on my computer. Complete and utter nonsense. Definitely a scam, if you ask me.

This number rang me 3 times yesterday, saying they were from BT about my internet. Since I’m not a BT customer, I couldn’t help but find it a bit funny and decided to pretend to be a silly old lady. Somehow, they always just drop the call after that ;)

I recently encountered a similar situation where I confronted a chap about his identity and intentions, yet he continued to pester me. I decided to share snippets of my rather tumultuous life-it's been quite the rollercoaster, as you can imagine. I kept him engaged for about three quarters of an hour, allowing him to believe I was on board with his scheme. In the end, however, my leg grew quite numb, prompting me to tell him to take a hike and that I'd be alerting the authorities.

I received a call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT. He insisted that their broadband and telephone services were about to go offline for vital maintenance and asked if I could hop on my computer straight away. I had to politely decline, explaining that I was on my way to a funeral. This seemed to annoy him quite a bit! It was clear to me that this was a scam attempt!

Got a call from an "International" number at 8.45 this morning, tried ringing an ex-directory number that’s on the TPS list. The caller just dropped the call when it went to voicemail. Really annoying, especially since we’re already stressed waiting for important health news from family overseas.

Whenever I get a call from a number I don’t recognise, I just let it ring off. Then, I have a quick look at my 1571 messages. If nothing’s there, I’ve saved myself the hassle of chatting to whoever it is or some random spammer.

Honestly, I’d just tell them to shove off! 😂

I’ve been getting quite a few rings from this number lately. Just yesterday, I got a call claiming to be regarding a BT internet connection, which is odd since I don’t have any such service! Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I received a rather alarming call at 14:50 on the 22nd of July, 2016. The chap on the other end, who introduced himself as John and spoke with a distinctly Indian accent, was insisting that there were hackers infiltrating my BT line. He urged me to power up my computer immediately, threatening that failure to do so would lead to my phone line and internet being out of action for six months, along with the possibility of being hacked. When I requested his contact number for a callback, he outright refused to provide it. After some back and forth, he finally hung up. Do yourself a favour and ignore this nonsense!

I've received multiple calls from this number, which appears to be linked to a computer hacking scam. Each time, they ask if I'm the owner of the computer, claiming to represent BT. They insist that there are hacked files on my device. It's all rather suspicious!

They tried ringing me a couple times today and also yesterday, but I don’t pick up calls from abroad.

Got a call from 03920 yesterday, but the number looked odd on my phone, so I didn’t pick up and just blocked it. Sure enough, they called again today, this time with an extra 0 on the front, making it 003920, so I blocked that one as well!

There was nothing but silence, then a click, followed by a recorded message saying 'Goodbye'. I've got Call Guardian and have blocked the number now.

Got called like four times in a couple of hours, but no one answered when I picked up.

Had loads of calls from 003920 over the past few days. No one has actually talked to me. The call just drops and then I hear a robotic voice say 'goodbye'.

Some bloke called Andy from "bt" rang me sayin he was gonna disconnect my phone and internet. I just said alright, then he asked if I had a laptop or PC, I told him no. After that, he goes who covers the bills? I said mind your own business. Then he actually called me a bastard with like a weird accent, then just hung up lol.

Got two calls today, one at 8:30 then another at 10:30. I said hello but there was just quiet, no reply. Ended up hanging up.

Ignored the call but the number kept ringing non stop with loads of calls.

Somebody saying they’re from BT tech support called me. When he asked for the homeowner, I told him it’s a business line and if he really was from BT, he’d know that. Then he just hung up. I’d had a few bizarre calls the last couple of days too, like silent ones or just a quick “goodbye” at the end. Probably about 4 or 5 calls all in all.

Andy from BT tech team rang me too, same as the others have said. I kept him talking for nearly 5 minutes while I pretended to write something down. He asked if a little box popped up on my laptop, and I said, “Yes, it says warning warning scam caller detected.” He just put the phone down straight away.

Got a call from this number around 9 in the morning. The person just kept saying hello, and when I asked who it was, they just ended the call.

Got a call from this number again, two days straight now. Let’s see if they bother me again tomorrow, should be interesting!

Such a strange number, only 6 digits long! It showed up as International 003920. Thanks to caller ID, I just let it ring until it went to voicemail, but no message was left. If they ring back, I'll do the same thing again.

This number persistently rings my phone!

I've received over ten calls from this number in just the last couple of days. They keep leaving a voicemail with a brief pause followed by just a "thank you" before it cuts off. It's really starting to get on my nerves... Does anyone know who they might be?!

They rang me 5 times today, no reply first 4 times. On the fifth, some bloke said he was from BT tech help. Told him not to call again or I'd report to the TPS, then he started calling me a ba**ard repeatedly until I just hung up.
