Why is it that BT can’t just block these annoying calls? I can block annoying numbers on my mobile no problem, so why not on my landline as well?

003920 rings me atleast 3 times dailey, goes straight to my answerphone. Its a recorded voice telling you to press 2 if you dont have gas, smells like a total scam. Also got a pushy woman with an Asian accent calling, claiming our BT internet or computer is at risk. She gets quite rude if you ask questions and just hangs up if you say you have an engineer team.

Got a call from them this morning at 8.10, bit scary if you ask me.

Got a call claiming to be from 'BT' sayin theres an issue with my internet - defo not BT and no probs here at all - just ended the call straight away.

Just got a call from this number for the first time, and I really hope it's the last since I've blocked it now. So glad I have call guard to catch these!

Yesterday morning, an elderly mate of mine got a phone call from this number. I happened to pick up the phone for her. It was a guy with an Asian accent, claiming to be from BT about fixing the phone lines. He asked if I had a computer, and I said yes. Then he told me to switch it on, which was impossible since it was like 12 miles away! He didn’t seem to get it and kept repeating himself. I told him straight up it’s a scam and no way BT would call like that. I told him to delete my number and stop hassling me. He kept saying “listen to me,” but I just told him to listen to me and get lost! I’m thinking of reporting it to the police now.

BT, computer, internet. He managed to guess just one out of three. Luckily I only wasted half a minute of his time. He caught on I was about to mess him about. Maybe next time, mate!

Whenever someone rings up saying there’s an issue with my internet, I just drag the call out as long as I can. Then I tell them I’ve got no computer at all. That really winds them up.

Got a call from 003920 today, some bloke called Ron claiming he was from BT. I pretended to believe him for a bit (again) when he said my internet was infected with malware, and warned it would be cut off in two hours. I just told him straight up, "Do you want my bank details or can you stop with this nonsense?" Then he hung up, pretty rude. He spoke with a strong Indian accent. THIS AIN'T BT, DON'T SHARE ANY DETAILS OR LISTEN TO THEM. TOTAL SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. He said my internet and phone would be disconnected in a couple of hours unless I sorted it out within 15 minutes. He asked me to get on my laptop or computer so he could "help" by accessing it remotely. Didn’t buy it and just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke called "Ron" claiming to be from "BT" phoned me saying my internet needed to be cut off and asked to get on my computer. I told him that's not right and he just told me to "f##k off" before hanging up. Proper rude.

Got a ring from this number, some guy with an Indian accent claiming there’s nasty malware on my PC. I told him everything’s protected on my end. Then he wanted me to check my computer while on the phone, which I couldn’t do. Next, he asked if I had a laptop - I said no, and he just ended the call. Didn’t know phone numbers could be this short! Just a heads up though, this is definitely a scam, so best to ignore and hang up straight away.

They tried saying they'd cut off my internet but I called them out as scammers and said I'd report them.

Over the past couple of days, this number has rung me close to ten times. Usually, my answerphone picked up before I could say anything. But the last time, I decided to answer and got a man with an Indian accent who turned hostile very fast. I warned him that if he tried calling me again, I'd have no choice but to report him to the cops. I’m pretty sure loads of folks fall for this sketchy scam though.

I got a call like this too, felt really dodgy right away so I ended the call almost straight away. I had a look at your site afterwards and it seems like this is happening to lots of people. Fingers crossed they get shut down before long.

Got a call from a bloke pretending to be from BT about my internet. I told him I'm not a BT customer, but he insisted it didn't matter since BT allegedly manages all lines. I said, even if that's true, BT wouldn't have my number because I’m not with them. He kept arguing, then I mentioned my caller ID showed a 003920 number, which I know isn’t a BT one. After that, he just hung up.

Some bloke said he was calling from BT and asked if I was aware my internet was going to be cut off tomorrow. I sussed it was a scam straight away so I just said 'alright then', and he just hung up on me. Sounded like one of those Indian call centres to me.

They rung me a couple of times. First time, just silence then a quick "bye". Then a few hours later, 003920 called again. I could hear a busy call centre noise in the back. A bloke with an Indian accent said he was David and that he wanted to talk about my internet. I ended the call straight away. Seeing what other people have said, I reckon I made the right choice.

Called me two times, first time nobody said a word, then a robotic voice said “Goodbye”. The second call was some dodgy bloke pretending hackers had messed with my internet. Total con artists.

003920 I had a problem with my line and BT sorted it out last week. Then I got a call from someone claiming to be BT asking if everything was alright with my connection. I tried to chat but when they started speaking in another language, I threw a security question at them and they just hung up. Not sure if it’s coincidence or if there’s some info being leaked from inside. I’ll definitely be informing my provider and BT about this.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Mark from BT, but he had a strong Indian accent. When I told him I wasn’t a BT customer, he said he knew that already but my internet and phone would be cut off for 6 months because of some “technical fault”. I immediately suspected a scam and told him I’d report the number - who does he think he’s scaring with this nonsense? Still, he kept insisting he was from BT and even quoted a London office address. Eventually, I just ended the call. Then, within a couple of minutes, another bloke called, no intro - just straight away asking, “Are you at your computer right now, ma’am?” I asked who he was, he said Raj from BT. I joked if Mark had passed my number on, and he just hung up. These scammers are so annoying. Wish there was a simple way to block them completely. They must be making enough money for it to be worth their time.

This morning at about 10 o’clock on the 16th of September, I got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Mark and claimed he was from BT’s tech support. I went along with it and he asked who the main internet user in the house was. I quickly hung up and looked up the number using 1471. We’ve never had a call from that number before. Definitely a scam attempt.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, telling me my computer had problems and if not sorted out my internet would be out for ages. I’d been checking out new BT broadband deals just before, so I kinda fell for it even though I knew something felt dodgy. Long story short, they ended up scamming me out of some cash. Don’t trust a single thing they tell you.

I played along a bit just to see what he’d say next but when he asked me to log into my computer I said ‘okay, tell me my name then?’ He just replied with a random string of letters. I laughed out loud and then he hung up straight away.

This number rang me earlier today. They asked me to switch off my phone for 30 minutes, but I only did it for about 5 minutes cause I got worried, then I checked the number online. Am I gonna have any trouble because of this?

Got a call at work from some bloke claiming to be James from BT, saying my internet would be cut off for the next three months starting today. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud, and then he just hung up. Honestly, feels like people’s honesty is disappearing fast.

Heads up! I got a call from the number 003920, with someone claiming to be from BT’s tech support, saying there was an issue with my computer and that BT would shut it down within a day. Since we’d had some recent troubles with our phone line, I nearly believed him at first. He asked me to press certain keys, but nothing happened. I reckon he was aiming to get more personal info next. When I asked for a BT contact number to verify, he dodged the question and just rambled on. The bloke spoke with an Indian accent and you could hear what sounded like a noisy office in the background.

some bloke with a thick foreign accent rang me saying he was James Ray from BT. claimed theres a big problem with my computer and he needed to hack into it. he got pretty rude when i questioned him, so i told him if he was really from BT, he'd be fired by now. he didnt take that well and then confessed he wasnt even with BT. then he said BT would be sending me a disconnection warning.

Got a call from some guy claiming to be with BT, asked if I was the primary user of my computer and went on about how hackers were detected while I was using it. I just hung up straight away. If it was for real, the BT rep would have asked for more security info first.

Like I said, his English was alright, and there were sounds of people chatting in the background to make it seem legit. He asked me to switch on my PC and do some stuff with it (obviously so he could get access). When he couldn’t say my name or give my account number, I just ended the call.

I’m a BT customer and just recently spoke to their Indian call centre, which was surprisingly helpful. But now, these scammers keep ringing me! Honestly, BT should be really embarrassed - it seems like their database is being leaked from that offshore centre. My suggestion? Switch away from BT, they’re just not worth it. And if you can, block the 00392 number, it’s just a headache.

Got a guy on the phone with a hard to understand Indian accent, claiming there’s issues with our BT broadband dropouts (which felt real since we've been having loads of trouble recently!). He was saying all sorts could’ve got downloaded onto my PC without me knowing, maybe a virus or something. I just said thanks and that I’d check with a tech mate I trust. Pretty sure the next move would’ve been asking to get into my computer?

Got loads of calls today 26/07/2016. Some came from a 003920 international code but no one spoke, so I just ended the call. Other times the caller ID was hidden, I dropped a few calls but the last one was a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from B.T. I told him I reckoned it was a scam and cut him off. We’re ex-directory anyway!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with BT. He told me my internet had an issue and that 40,000 people in the UK were facing the same thing. When I told him I wasn’t convinced, he threatened that under the Data Protection Act, my internet would be switched off for six months if I didn’t follow his instructions. I just hung up straight away!

Got a call from 003920 and it just went dead on my voicemail. No reply when I picked up. Noticed some folks saying they got someone pretending to be from BT. Probably best if everyone reports it to BT. I’m definitely planning to do that!

The call was really bad quality and the person just ended the call, though this has happened to me before.

Got a call from 003920 today, the voice had an Indian accent but the number didnt look familiar. The guy said someone nearby was freeloading off our BT internet without paying. He asked for some info from us so I started asking him stuff. Claimed to be a senior manager at BT in Holborn but needed to talk to the account owner because they might cut off our internet for good. I asked his name and he just ended the call. BE CAREFUL!! Definitely sounds like a scam.

Total scam for sure. Dude said he was from BT and said my internet was about to get cut off. What a muppet, got him going round in circles lol ??

Received a call earlier today, they claimed there was an issue with my internet and asked for £2.50 payment. Normally I wouldn’t fall for it, but this time I did, and now I see money has been taken from my bank account.

Got a call from someone supposedly BT, talkin about broadband probs. But its a business number with no broadband - total scam. Feels like those Indian call centres have sold BT’s info or somthin.

8:48am on Saturday 28th May, got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT saying there was a virus on my email. I’m ex-directory so how did he even get my number? And how did he know I’m with BT? I just ended the call straight away and checked the number with 1471, it showed 003920. I tried calling it back and it was dead silent, no ring at all. Definitely a scam.

Got a call earlier from someone sayin he was Mark from BT tech support, said they were gonna cut my internet in an hour. I kept askin why but he just kept sayin the same thing again and again. Could hear loads of noise in the background, and frankly, I don’t believe it was any Mark from BT - more like some bloke in India called Raj! I just ended the call.

This number rang me up, and the person on the other end claimed they were about to cut off my Internet because it was supposedly hosting harmful content. I told them I have virus protection, but they said that wasn’t the issue. When I asked who my Internet provider was, they got it right. Then, when I pressed about how long the disconnection would last, the call abruptly ended. Honestly, it was a pretty scary situation.
