Got a call on my landline from the number 00353544347 showing up on caller ID. A woman with what sounded like a Southern African accent said she was from BT. The background noise made it sound like a small call centre or something. She told me, "Your broadband will be cut off tonight. Did you know that?" I replied "No" and waited, but she only said "Sorry?" I told her I hadn’t said anything and was waiting for her to continue. Then she just said "I’ve told you everything I’m required to say." I said "Alright, thanks, bye," and hung up. I had a similar call a few weeks back from a man. I’m guessing they try to freak you out into giving them remote access or paying up, probably to hack you. I’m convinced this is completely illegal from start to finish.
