00260220161 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 00260220161 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving callers impersonating British Telecom staff, often with foreign accents, warning of supposed security issues or viruses on your computer. They typically urge victims to allow remote access or follow suspicious instructions. Legitimate companies like BT or Microsoft do not make unsolicited calls to report computer problems or request personal information. Recipients are strongly advised to avoid engaging, not to provide any details, and to verify independently through official channels. The calls aim to mislead and potentially gain control of devices or extract money, so caution and scepticism are essential.

Got a call from a bloke with what sounded like an Indian accent, claiming there was some kind of security issue with my BT internet. I didn’t even bother, just ended the call straight away!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying that our computers were sending error alerts to them. We run an IT support company, so we’re pretty certain that’s complete rubbish. Seems like another scam trying to catch people out. Don’t hand over any details or cash to these people. Microsoft doesn’t ring you up saying your machine is sending them warnings about viruses or errors.

I rang BT on 0800411422 and got some details about helpful websites. They mentioned things like bti###)/u calls2, also [#]bt(###]/call protect3, and another one was [#]bt[##]/scams. Not sure exactly what these are but seemed useful.

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT in London, claiming my computer had a virus. I asked her to send me an email and then ended the call. I'm planning to ring BT myself to check if it was legit. Seems like a scam to me.

Some firm pretending to be British Telecom tried to get into my laptop. Stay well clear of them!

Got a call out of the blue from someone pretending to be BT. They said my laptop was hacked and told me to log in and do exactly what they said. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Dave Watford, said he was with BT at their Newgate Street office. He told me my computer had a virus. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.
