I just got a ring from this number, some bloke claiming he was with the Windows tech squad. He asked if I owned my computer, I didn’t say anything and instead asked what it was about, then he hung up on me. Had a few dodgy calls like this last Monday from people saying they were with BT, but they never showed their number.

This guy claimed he was from my internet company and said there was an issue he could solve if I gave him access to my PC. When I told him I didn’t even have a computer, he started shouting and was really nasty. The bloke was Asian.

This morning at around 9:50, a guy named Daniel called. I told him straight away that my computer’s Windows had stopped working, and honestly, he just packed up and left me alone after that.

I've had a few calls from someone claiming to be from Microsoft's tech support. Sometimes I just tell them they’ve got the wrong number and that I don't own a computer. If they’re willing to fib, then I might as well do the same. Other times I get annoyed and shout at them, calling them scammers and fraudsters.

Got a call around 8.20 this morning from a lady asking if I owned a laptop. I said no, just an iPad Pro. Then she asked again if anyone in my family had one, and I admitted yes, someone does. She immediately accused me of lying. I said fine, I was. She then tried to scare me by saying if I didn’t switch on the laptop so she could fix some issue, by tomorrow I'd lose internet access on both my laptop and iPad because she'd cancel my licence. I just told her alright then, go ahead and block it. Bye.

Called me bright and early at half seven, claiming to be from Microsoft. I promptly told him to do one. He then had the audacity to say, “Well, madam, I’ll have no choice but to block your computer as it’s been compromised by a virus…” I didn’t stick around to hear any more and just hung up.

I received a phone call today, 21/01/2017, from a chap with an Asian accent who tried to persuade me that he was a tech expert and asked me about my computer. Interestingly, I got a similar call a few weeks back from a woman using the same script. Given that I've been in contact with BT quite a lot lately and have mainly dealt with Asian call centres, it’s no surprise that some individuals might be tricked by these scammers. When I reflect on it, even if they do manage to apprehend these individuals, which I presume is quite a rarity, it appears that they face minimal consequences-perhaps just a stern talking-to… Honestly, they ought to be caught and face proper repercussions!

Got a call at 7 in the morning, the typical Microsoft scam nonsense. These jokers keep ringing me again and again, and whatever you try, they just won’t give up. I’m with the others who say there needs to be tougher rules, better caller ID, and proper penalties. They just keep going because no one is putting in the work or resources to stop them.

This woman claimed she was ringing from London but it was clear she wasn’t, given the number on my screen. She actually knew my name and then went on about some problem with my computer. I just burst out laughing, called her a daft cow, and ended the call. Honestly, with all the media coverage these days exposing these kind of scams, how can anyone still fall for this rubbish?

This morning, I received a rather tiresome call from a rather clueless chap who was adamant that I should fire up my computer. I picked up the call, and the chap on the other end claimed to represent an international firm. I've encountered similar issues before relating to my computer, so I was a bit taken aback! I mentioned that I don't actually have a computer, and he abruptly hung up. Honestly, I receive numerous calls asserting that I have computer troubles, which they use as a ruse to access your device, potentially planting malware and then charging you a fortune to remove it. Please stay vigilant regarding such calls and don’t let yourselves be tricked. No one can truly discern the state of your laptop or computer unless you tell them. Just a heads-up!

Is there no way to put an end to this madness? My poor mum, who's quite advanced in years, has been inundated with odd calls from this bunch (not to mention a few others). It's gotten so bad that she refuses to pick up the phone anymore, which is just heartbreaking. Calls at 7:30 in the morning and half ten at night on a Saturday - it’s absolutely ridiculous! Just think, what about older folks who don’t have anyone like us to investigate these nuisances and help reassure them? We desperately require a nationwide blocking service to tackle this issue!

I have been absolutely inundated by this number to the extent that I’ve merely stopped picking up the home phone altogether. They called me at the crack of dawn today and then again late last night! What on earth possesses these people?! I foolishly took one of their calls a few weeks back and made it abundantly clear that I wouldn’t be taken in by their tricks, yet their dogged determination is utterly astonishing. It’s almost made me consider hopping on a flight to India, marching right into their office and yanking the phone wires out! Now that would send a proper message! :p

Got a call from this number a couple of days ago and then twice this morning, once at 7:33am. I just left them go to voicemail - no need for an early wake-up call thanks! Weirdly, even though it started with "002 .", my phone didn't flag it as "INTERNATIONAL". Also, a couple days back I had two calls from 02087756657, one pretty early. One of those showed up as "INTERNATIONAL" but the other one didn't, even though neither began with "00." Strange stuff!

I received a call from this number, and the woman on the line claimed my computer had fallen victim to hacking and was riddled with problems. She insisted that she needed access to my device to investigate the alleged issues further but was rather vague about any potential costs, stating they could only determine the price after assessing the situation. It was clear to me that this was nothing but a scam. I politely declined her offer and ended the call. However, she immediately tried to ring me again, this time rather irate, wanting to know why I had hung up on her. Her tone was far less courteous on the second attempt. I just had a rather dubious call from a chap with an Indian accent, purporting to be from the Technical Division of a firm named VAD. He claimed my computer had been compromised and was supposedly sending out illicit messages, insisting that if I powered up my machine, he could reveal those messages to me. I cut him off, firmly stating I had no intention of firing up my computer for him to invade and install all sorts of harmful rubbish (let’s just say I used a more expressive term!). I just had a rather suspect phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent who introduced himself as a representative from a firm named VAD’s Technical Team. He informed me that my computer had been compromised and was allegedly sending out messages of an unlawful nature. Astonishingly, he insisted that if I powered up my computer, he could display these supposed messages for me. I swiftly cut in and made it clear that there was no way I was turning on my computer so he could waltz in and install all sorts of unsavoury software, which, I assured him, would likely wreak havoc on my machine (let’s just say I used a more vivid expression!). On the 25th of November, 2016, my husband received a call from this number. A chap on the other end claimed there was an issue with our computer. My husband, ever the gentleman, kindly informed him that there was no problem and ended the conversation. Lo and behold, the same man called back, sounding quite irate, and demanded to know how we could dare disconnect! I've had this number incessantly calling me, and let me tell you, the chap on the other end had a rather unpleasant attitude-he had an Indian accent, if that matters. Thankfully, I've had the sense to block their number now. Just figured out how to do it on my BT8500 phone, even though I tossed out the manual ages ago! The caller, an individual with a thick Indian accent, queried whether I owned a computer and claimed he could assist with some supposed issue. I entertained him for a bit, then promptly ended the call. He had the audacity to ring me back not once, but twice! What an insufferable nuisance!

We've been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for ages now, and we also have caller ID activated. If the number isn’t recognised, the phone just stays quiet.

Some bloke with a really thick Indian accent claimed to be from some VAP e support team, saying my Windows was under threat from hackers. I told him I've got a Mac and it's got security anyway, but he kept going on about it not being viruses but hackers. He then asked me to switch on my computer. I said I couldn't, and when I asked why, he started yelling that I had to turn it on straight away. I told him to calm down and said I'd check out his "company" and ring back (which of course I wasn't going to do, since he was clearly lying). Then I just ended the call.

This number keeps ringing me every single day for the past week, always at different times. It’s mad because even when my favourite soaps are on, they don’t stop calling! I never get a message left on my answerphone either. Honestly, it’s so annoying since no one ever calls me during the soaps normally!

Honestly, I just let it go to voicemail and never pick up. Having a phone that displays who's calling really helps to dodge those annoying calls without any hassle.

I received a call from this number today, and the person on the other end became quite hostile when I mentioned that I don’t have access to a computer.

I received a call from this number just now, but I chose not to pick up as it looked a bit dodgy. I did a quick search online and found some previous remarks about it. Cheers for that!

Got a call from some bloke named Ron claiming my PC was full of viruses and he could fix it. Then he passed me on to some “senior tech” guy who said their company was based in Middles... well, or so they said, using the postcode YB7 7RO. Turns out, that postcode isn’t real at all! I reported the whole thing to TotallyTalk, Microsoft, Acer, and even Gwent police. If you get a ring like that, just hang up and don’t share any info with them.

First he started with some rubbish about computer glitches, then when I cheekily told him his nonsense topped even his Dutch accent, the bloke from the Netherlands ended the call pretty sharpish.

fed up with this number calling me, some guy with an indian accent named ron rang and said my computer was damaged. he said if i turned it on he'd fix it. i said no way, then he threatened to turn it off for good so i couldn’t use it anymore. i told him to do it, then suddenly the call just dropped. quite dodgy if you ask me.

Greetings, everyone! For those inquiring about how to put a stop to pesky calls from this number and numerous other unsolicited ones, I highly recommend the BT8500. There’s a wealth of reviews available regarding this superb phone and its call-blocking capabilities. I've been using it for more than two years, and I can proudly say I haven't had a single nuisance call since! It’s absolutely worth every penny. Initially, you might feel like your phone line is disconnected, it’s that eerily quiet! I truly hope you find this information helpful!

I've received an absolute barrage of calls from this chap from India for the past six years. When he first got in touch, I was taken in by his charm, but I started to have my doubts when he began asking for personal information. Nowadays, if I do happen to pick up, I simply tell him to clear off and stop with the fibs! More often than not, he just hangs up on me! I really wish there was a way to put an end to these calls once and for all. Anyone got any tips on how to sort this out?

a bloke named ron rang me, spouting the usual microsoft nonsense, gave me a number to ring back - 0203 1295025. obviously, I didn’t bother calling. about 20 mins later, he rings again threatening to switch my computer off if I didn’t do what he said, claiming i’d lose access altogether. the number showed on 1471 as 002392354444. just another scammer trying to waste my time. told him to switch it off if he fancied, but my pc’s still running fine.

Got a couple of calls today from folks saying they were from Microsoft. They told me my computer was involved in setting up gambling and adult sites. Surprisingly, they had my full address and postcode, and also said they knew my IP address. They warned me that they’d shut down my laptop and that I’d end up needing a new one. But then they offered to guide me through some steps to safeguard it, saying I had to log on while we were still on the call.

been getting calls from this number for more than a year, easily 60, 70 times or even more. they used to claim they’re from microsoft, but they don’t say that now. recently one bloke told me he’s blocked me, so i just tell them i’ve already got blocked. no idea how to put a stop to these calls, they pop up a couple of times a week usually between 10 and 11 in the morning.

I've received incessant calls from this number, probably around 60 to 70 times over the past year or even longer. They initially claimed to be from Microsoft, but that gimmick seems to have faded away. Recently, one chap actually 'blocked' me, which led me to start telling them that I was already on their block list. It's rather perplexing how to put an end to these persistent nuisances; I find myself getting two or three calls a week, all arriving consistently between 10 and 11 in the morning.

I received a call requesting to speak with Mr or Mrs... when I informed them that Mr had passed away, they seemed unfazed. Then, they mentioned receiving odd messages from my computer, to which I firmly replied, "That’s not possible, you’re trying to dupe me!" and promptly ended the call. Previously, they claimed to represent Microsoft, and when I claimed I didn’t own a computer (which was a fib!), it was just as irritating. Such a bother!
