Got a call about some Windows laptop, and when I asked how he even got my number and why he was tracking a laptop via IP, he just started calling me stupid for not taking his word. Definitely a prank call, best just to ignore it.

I received a rather dubious call claiming that Sky owes me £200 because of some technical problems. It immediately raised my suspicions as it felt like a ploy to fish for my bank information. Thankfully, I managed to cut the conversation short before they could delve any deeper into their little scheme!

Had the exact same thing. A woman with an Indian accent said she was calling from Sky and that I was owed £200 back. I said it was my husband's account so why was she talking to me! She hung up straight away. Then it rang again almost right after, so I just didn’t pick up. Definitely a scam.

This number keeps ringing me up over and over!! I spoke to this rude lady with an Asian accent who got really pushy and uppity when I wouldn’t give her my card info!! She said if I was owed a refund, it would be sent straight to my bank - like she supposedly already had my details?? Then she just hung up on me! I called Sky to warn them about this and let them know what’s going on. Seriously, don’t these folk have better things to be doing? Me, I definitely do!!

I've received a few calls from this number today. Given the abundance of dodgy callers these days, I tend to leave my answering machine switched on at all times. If a number rings that I actually recognise, I'll pick up; but if it’s unknown, they’ll need to drop me a message if they want to chat. Otherwise, the phone stays silent on my end. It’s funny how there are these bursts of incessant ringings followed by spells of eerie quietness, only for it to kick off all over again a few days later.

They ring me every single morning and afternoon. I just leave the phone by the TV until they give up, so it's draining their credit! I do this with all the annoying numbers I found on this great site, you should give it a go, most of them eventually stop calling.

Yesterday, I received four calls claiming to be from Sky regarding a refund. I told them where to go because I could smell a scam from a mile away. I've since added them to my blocked numbers. However, despite that, they've managed to ring me twice again today. Thankfully, their calls are being blocked, but I can still see them popping up on my call log!

I received a rather dubious phone call earlier from a bloke claiming to be from Sky, saying something about a £220 refund. When I inquired about how they'd process it, he asked for my debit account details instead of my credit card number! I couldn't help but think, do I look that naïve? I promptly told him to jog on, suspecting he was just trying to con me. Sky would obviously handle any refunds automatically through proper channels, wouldn't they? This number has bothered me four times today, so let’s hope that’s the last I hear from them!

They call me around 4 or 4.30pm pretty much every couple days about some refund for Sky, but we’ve never even had Sky here. It’s getting really annoying, I keep asking them to stop ringing. I’m guessing they want my bank info for a refund or something, but I’m careful not to give anything away.

Total scam, got a call from a lady with an asian accent saying I’m owed a £200 refund from Sky for a year of being overcharged. She asked for my date of birth and credit card expiry date. Told her straight up I’m not sharing any bank or card details on a random call and suggested they send the refund to the account I use for my Sky direct debit. Then I just ended the call. They keep ringing though, I just ignore it now. Never give these fraudsters any info, best thing is to just hang up immediately.

I keep receiving calls from this number, 0022, claiming to be Sky Refund, insisting they owe me £200 due to an overpayment. I've made it clear time and again that I recognise it as a scam and have asked them to take my number off their list. Even after I threatened to go to the police- which I actually followed up on- they still persist. I also let Sky know about the situation, but they didn't seem fazed by it. What a nuisance!

This number rang me both yesterday and today claiming to be from the Sky refund team. Yesterday I told the woman that we don’t have Sky and she said sorry. Today a man called asking for my daughter, who left home two years ago. Same story again. I told him we don’t have Sky and kept saying it but he kept chatting quietly, so I just ended the call. Somebody called saying they were from Sky's refund team, claiming I was owed money! I told them it's a scam, but the woman with an Indian accent insisted on passing me to her supervisor for proof. I said if I really had a refund, just credit it to the Sky account I pay. She then said if I don’t give my date of birth and bank details, no refund would happen!! Then she just hung up!! Last week, I installed a call-blocking phone designed to filter out nuisance calls, particularly from international numbers. However, I've noticed a few pesky calls each day from numbers starting with 02018*****, 0012******, and 0022020******. Initially, the display indicates it’s an "International" call, but as soon as I answer, it morphs into one of the aforementioned prefixes. These callers claim to be associated with Sky. Is there any way I can put an end to these unwelcome interruptions? I’ve read online that these calls likely originate from Asia.

Greetings! Just wanted to share my experience with a call I received from this number around 8:45 in the morning. I picked up the phone and greeted them, but to my surprise, they simply disconnected! I've since blocked the number. Interestingly, I've been receiving a number of similar calls lately, often from withheld or unavailable numbers, as well as some international ones. A word of caution: steer clear of returning calls to those numbers; there's a risk you might end up racking up hefty charges!

Got a silent call after I answered and said hi, then the line just cut off. It’s always the same - government sluggishness at its finest. Phone companies cash in on this nonsense, yet they don’t bother stopping the people making these calls or the poor souls employed by them who clearly couldn’t care less about others. Despite all human potential for good, we seem powerless when it comes to wiping out this trash. Read some other comments here and seems like others feel the same.

This chap told my son to shove the call where the sun doesn't shine!

I really regret not picking up the phone myself; I would’ve given him a taste of his own medicine. I'd stick that phone down his gob so deep he’d chime like a church bell every time he let out a toot!

21/11/2016. Got a call in the afternoon from someone with an Indian accent - really hard to make out what they were saying. They already had my name and address, and mentioned something about me having a direct debit with BT. They also said they knew I get loads of nuisance calls, like most people do, and claimed they could sort it with some call blocking. I ended the call straight away, telling them they were wasting my time BEFORE any talk about payments or anything.

Got a call from an Asian guy named Adam claiming my Sky card was about to expire and they were sending a new one, but he needed my DOB and stuff. He said if I didn't give him my details, my Sky would be cancelled. I received a call from a woman with a strong accent claiming to be from Sky. She mentioned that my payment card was close to expiring and seemed to have knowledge about my Sky box. She requested me to verify my address, which she already had, and then began probing for further personal details. I refused to divulge any information, at which point her tone turned rather confrontational. It didn’t take long for me to realise she wasn’t legitimate. Thankfully, I held my ground and didn’t share anything sensitive, but she did manage to sway my confidence for a brief spell. Just a heads up to everyone-stay vigilant!

I had a rather unsettling call from this number at precisely 8.12 a.m. on the 30th of September, which was a Friday, requesting details concerning my computer systems. I found myself rather curt with the chap on the line, who had a pronounced foreign accent, and I rather pointedly asked him what business it was of his. Without so much as a ‘goodbye’, he promptly hung up! It feels like we’re inundated with scams these days, and it strikes me that not nearly enough is being done to tackle this menace. This particular number has been on the radar for quite a while now; I do wonder why action hasn’t been taken to block it? The telecommunications companies and internet providers are raking in profits hand over fist from the public, yet their efforts to shield us from these nuisances seem woefully insufficient.

I received a rather persistent phone call today, on the 29th of September 2016. The gentleman on the line had an Indian accent and claimed to be from something called the "Window Computer Centre." He was adamant that my computer was under a hacking threat. Initially, I terminated the call, but he soon rang again. I expressed my disbelief in his claims, yet he was so tenacious that I eventually just placed the phone down on the table and walked off. After a few minutes, I decided to end the call, only for him to ring back yet again. I ignored his attempts the next two times, and the calls eventually went to voicemail, where he promptly hung up. This individual is a right nuisance and definitely needs to be addressed.

When I expressed my scepticism towards his claims, his insistence only grew stronger. I eventually said "fine," left the phone on the table, and wandered off. After a few minutes of silence, I decided to disconnect, only for him to dial me again. I let the phone go unanswered for the next two calls, and it eventually went to my voicemail, where he simply disconnected. This individual is quite the nuisance and ought to be dealt with.

They claimed to be from Windows tech support, were really rude and tried to scam me by saying my PC had a virus to get personal info. I told them to take my number off their list and they just hung up. The calls came from 001239 483584 and other unknown numbers. Been getting loads of calls from them over the past two days.

Some bloke with a thick accent kept saying my BT internet was going to get cut off (I don’t even use BT). I told him to come ‘round and see if he wanted his head taken off, and weirdly he just hung up on me!

Got a call from some guy saying he was from BT, saying my internet was running slow and asking me to take out my laptop to fix it. I’m not even with BT and my internet’s been fine, so I just ended the call.

Someone called claiming to be from Sky, saying I’d be sent a new card. They already knew my name and address, then asked for my date of birth. When I asked why they didn’t just post the card, they said they needed my age to check if I was eligible for a pensioner discount! I just ended the call there.

Got a call from someone saying she was with BT. She kept asking if my computer was fixed, but I told her I’m not a BT customer and hung up. Then the same lady rang me about six more times back to back, so I picked up and told her where to stick it. She then started saying she'd be disconnecting my line because of some technical problem and even said she had details about my bill. I kept telling her I’m not with BT and she can’t just cut me off, then she just hung up. No more calls since then.

Saw I had a missed call and my phone showed it as coming from a contact saved as police. Bit odd coz the number I have for the police around here is 01142202020, close but different. Dunno if it’s something to do with BT or my rubbish phone messing up. Either way, we chose not to pick up. Probably for the best anyway.

I got a call from that number and the person seemed to know my name and address. At first, I was a bit confused. He kept talking about some Hotpoint washing machine but I dont have one. Once I figured that out, I just ended the call. The bloke sounded Indian, by the way!

Got a call from a really nasty and pushy guy, said his name was "John Smith" (seriously, that’s what he told us). He threatened my mum, saying he’d "come and chuck cow dung" on her if she didn’t give him the info he wanted. Claimed he was from Microsoft and that our Windows was 'OOD' or something like that. Proper rude and scary!

Someone called me claiming to be from SKY, said they wanted to send me a new viewing card but asked for my date of birth and bank sort code!! I didn't give them anything, then got put through to some manager who threatened to cut off my SKY service. I told them to do what they like but there's no way I'm giving my bank info. They just hung up on me. Bloody dodgy lot!!

A gentleman with an Indian accent called my elderly father, claiming to be from Sky TV. He stated that his viewing card was about to expire and that a new one would be dispatched soon; however, he required confirmation of his bank information first. Thankfully, I intercepted the call, as the chap was quite pushy. I ended up hanging up on him. What worries me is that he already had my father's name and date of birth.

I’ve just had a rather concerning interaction where a gentleman with an Indian accent called my 86-year-old dad. He claimed there was an issue with his Sky TV card and insisted that Dad needed to verify his banking information to receive a new one. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call asking for my bank info and a 3-digit code - got quite rude when I said no. OWL alerts really help by keeping us older folks aware of these scams so we don't get caught out.

I received a rather peculiar phone call where the individual claimed to be representing a windows provider. They began discussing my browsing habits and then insisted they had no association with Microsoft whatsoever! Apparently, it was a ‘courtesy call’ related to my online activities. When I pressed them on how they managed to obtain my phone number or connect my IP address to me, they were utterly lost for words. I thought it best to label them as a scammer before promptly hanging up. Quite the entertaining exchange, I must say!

They rang up sayin they were from a windows company and started going on about my search history. Then suddenly said they had no connection to Microsoft at all!!! Said it was a courtesy call because of what I'd been searchin. Couldn't explain how they got my number or connected my IP to me. After I had a bit of banter and called them a scammer, I just hung up.

Called me multiple times this morning. I let it go to voicemail without picking up. I'm grateful for the insights others have shared regarding this number. Why on earth isn't the regulator able to put a stop to it? It's clearly a scam, isn’t it?

I've had a couple of calls from these muppets claiming to be with British Gas... I decided to give BG a bell, and they assured me it wasn’t them. These callers really know how to spin a yarn, so do take heed! I can't quite fathom what their angle is since I never allow them to proceed much further.
