Today I received a call from this number, and to be fair, the person didn’t sound Indian like I expected, but more African. He asked if I was the woman of the house, and I just ended the call straight away. Now, whenever I pick up and hear that typical call centre buzz in the background, I just hang up without a word. I was under the impression BT would have sorted out these annoying calls with their blocking service earlier this year, but it seems it’s not doing its job at all!

Pretty sure this is some call centre from India, they buzz me a couple times every day. They’re usually quite polite and always use English names when they talk. We’ve told them nicely to quit calling us, but they just keep at it. It’s turning into a bit of an issue now.

Got the typical call saying 'can I ask you a few questions' but at least the bloke was quite polite. The funny bit was after I kept questioning why I should bother answering, he hung up, and straight away I got one of those 'you've been selected for new windows' calls, which annoys me way more since they're just automated and I get loads every single day. Could just be a coincidence they came one after the other, but I can’t help thinking they might be linked somehow. Seriously, what is it with them - why don’t they just back off already!!!!

I get calls from this number pretty much daily, though the times vary a lot. Occasionally, a guy with an Indian accent tries to chat, but I shut that down sharpish! Other times, they just hang up without saying a word. I’ve asked them repeatedly to take me off their list, but no luck, they just ignore me. They ring me daily and most of the time it’s just dead quiet on the other end. Seems like they’re testing if the number is active. If you’ve got caller ID, try playing a loop of a fax machine noise when they call - you can find these sounds on YouTube - it usually gets you taken off their list. If they’re doing a survey, give false answers but keep track of what you said. Just watch out, cos some callers might try to use that info to their advantage.

Guy rang me, spoke quite well but you could tell English wasn’t his first language. Claimed to be from 'Today's Living' and asked if I could spare a few mins for some questions. I pressed him on which firms he was representing. He said things like big UK names - Sky, EDF, and Simplify Digital, that price comparison site. So if you’re ever curious how these foreign call centres end up with our numbers, that’s probably it. Make sure to add them to your block list.

I think this is a firm named lifestyles. When you pick up, there’s a pause and then a guy with an Indian accent asks if you can do a quick survey. I’ve had at least 3 calls, a couple in the morning around 8 and one just before 9 at night. Every time I declined to take part and told them to stop calling me. Got a call from a really unpleasant bloke with a thick Indian accent and awful English. It took ages for him to even start talking after my husband picked up. He asked if my husband was the "man" of the house, and when my husband asked who he was, the guy got really rude. So my husband hung up straight away and I blocked the number right after. We’re not answering calls from that number again, but these scammers always ring from loads of different but similar numbers. Each time they call, it’s a new number to block.
