DON'T GET TRICKED BY PROMISES TO STOP ANNOYING CALLS IF IT MEANS SHARING BANK DETAILS. Someone rang claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, offering to end nuisance calls, but then asked for name, address, postcode and even details linked to phone bill payments. When questioned, they stumbled - comments like "you don't sound like an Anthony" (even though they said they’re calling from SE Asia), "where is TPS located?" (they said Manchester), and "why do you need bank info just to block calls?" (gave a dodgy reply). Asked to speak to a supervisor - they actually connected me.
