Some bloke rang me up sayin he was from BT, said he needed to get into my PC and internet to fix some problems and viruses that supposedly were on my line. His English was awful, all over the place. For anyone who doesn’t know better, it could sound legit. Just a massive waste of time, total rubbish!!

Recently, I received a call from this number and an Indian gentleman picked up before abruptly disconnecting. My phone took a while to process the hang-up, which delayed my attempt to use 1471. It’s a brand new phone, and I haven’t shared my number with anyone or called anyone outside of family, but since day two of having it, I've been inundated with unsolicited calls regarding PPI claims, accidents, and even inquiries about how my phone's functioning. Interestingly, it’s always an Indian chap claiming to represent BT and calling from Guernsey. Something feels off! In fact, the few times I’ve bothered to answer, they all seem to have that distinct Indian accent. What on earth is happening here?
