Got a call earlier from a bloke claiming he was from the Middle East, saying my computer's IP was showing some kind of security issue with Windows. He went on about technical stuff and IP addresses, and I just played along with everything he said. Then I told him I couldn’t get to my computer right then, and he ended the call straight away. Didn’t bother telling him I actually don’t own a computer - I just wanted to keep him hanging so I could waste his time.

I just got a call about computers, sounded like a scam, only lasted about two minutes.

About ten minutes ago, I got a call from someone named John claiming to be from the Windows tech support team, telling me there was an issue 😳. When I questioned why he was calling from Egypt, he insisted it must be my phone messing up because he was definitely calling from London 🙄. I handed the phone over to my husband, who enjoys keeping them on the line for as long as he can, pretending to fiddle with the computer. When they asked what was on the screen, my hubby said, “Warning: Asian scammers trying to hack your system.” Right after that, the call just went dead 😂😂😂.

Was in the car using hands free when this number rang. It turned out to be some scam about computer problems. I just let them have it with some not so nice words. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows, trying that classic IP address scam. Told him exactly what I thought and then he just hung up. Seriously, hope no one gets caught out by this rubbish.

I decided to humour him for a bit and acted like I was doing what he asked. He told me to press ctrl + windows key + square and keep them held, then press r. I asked, what am I supposed to do with that message? My reply was something like “Get lost, do you think I’m daft?” That cheeky lad just ended the call right there ;-)

I checked the number and it says it’s from Egypt. After seeing all the other reviews, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Windows. They said my emails were causing some kind of security alerts and claimed 514 files were running in the background. They wanted me to sit at my computer so they could help sort it out. I told them I only use a phone, no PC, and they just hung up straight away. Sounds just like the scam another person mentioned here. Watch out for this one!

Got a call out of the blue from someone claiming to be from Windows, telling me about my computer and how there might be programs running in the background while I check my emails, downloading stuff without me knowing. She asked if I'd noticed that before, and I said no, I hadn’t. Then she offered to help but first wanted me to prove that I owned the computer's IP address. I felt a bit suspicious and asked how I could trust she was legit. Without a word, she just hung up on me...

Some bloke rang, mentioning he was calling from London about Windows. When he insisted on getting paid, I told him I wasn’t gonna pay, and then he just cut me off.

They knew my name and started talking about my windows, but as soon as I told them my computer was alright, they just hung up on me.

The caller kept ringing even though the number showed it was from Egypt, which made me not pick up. Eventually, I just blocked the number because they wouldn’t stop.
