Got a call from this number, but as soon as I answered, they just hung up. Decided to block it straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft support, telling me my computer was infected with a virus. They offered to fix it but then asked to get remote access to my laptop. Definitely steer well clear of these guys!

Got a call from this number earlier today. Picked up and some bloke with a thick foreign accent was on about my computer being “infected”. Asked him which company he was with and he mumbled something like “quick support” before suddenly switching to “quick solution”. Played along a bit then just hung up. Moments later, they rang back and the guy sounded really grumpy and pushy when I refused to listen. I made it clear to leave me alone and he hung up straight away. Honestly, don’t trust anything these calls say - it’s clearly a scam!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying my computer was being hacked and offering to help track down the intruder. They asked me to switch on my PC, but I told them it was already on. Then I warned them I'd ring the police and report them as scammers before hanging up. Honestly, they must think we’re fools. Hope they don’t bother trying to call me again.

I dialled my old partner’s listed home phone and as soon as they picked up, they just hung up without uttering a word.

The person on the phone had a clear Indian accent and there was a bit of a delay right after I picked up, which made me think it was an automatic dialler. They acted like I was daft, claiming my computer needed urgent protection because they were supposedly "tracking my IP address". Total scam, no doubt about it. I told him to get lost, and then he started saying ridiculous stuff about being involved with my mum and sister. What baffles me is, if someone tried pulling this on the street, they’d probably be nicked for attempted fraud. Why on earth are these lot allowed to keep going?

Got a call from this number around 12:45, probably targeting elderly folks who stay indoors all day. Luckily, I was on a day off. I quickly told them to piss off.

This number keeps calling me like 2 or 3 times a day. Normally I just hang up straight away, but today I actually answered. They told me my computer had some kind of virus.
1) Where on earth did they get my phone number from?
2) Since when do they know anything about my computer being infected?
Clearly a total scam. I’ve flagged this number loads of times but they just keep calling!

Thinkin they was after some easy targets, I thought it was my mates calling so I picked up all happy and loud. Then, quick as a flash, they just cut the call. Proper odd!

Honestly, if you kept up with the news a bit better, you’d see this scam has been going on forever. The best way to stay safe is just to educate yourself more about these things.

I got a call on my landline from this number, saying my computer had a virus or something. Thing is, I don’t know how they even got hold of my home phone number or how they’d know about any problems with my PC. It sounded dodgy to me, so I just hung up straight away.
