I got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent claiming he was from BT's IT support. From past experiences, I could tell he was totally making it up. I kept him chatting for a bit and then asked straight out who he actually worked for. Funny thing, halfway through, he suddenly switched his story and said he worked for Microsoft now. When I questioned that, he rudely told me to buzz off and then just hung up on me. So yeah, pretty obvious this was a scam call, not BT or Microsoft!

Had repeated calls from this guy all morning, telling me I’ve got some serious virus and need to sit by my computer so he can sort it. I told him to sod off and try someone else since my hubby’s a proper network security pro (he really is). He just said “okay” and hung up. First, he claimed to be from BT, then switched to Microsoft. They ring me at least a couple times each day, always with some foreign accent. When I say I’m not interested, they start getting rude. I spoke with BT but apparently it’s not their line and there’s nothing they can do. The lady told me to contact the police, but honestly, what difference would that make? I just end up blocking the numbers every time they call.

Got a call from some woman claiming to be from BT tech stuff, saying my computer was sending out error messages or something. She wanted me to switch it on so she could fix the issue.
