Just got a call from someone saying they were from a computer centre, but the moment I started asking questions, they hung up. Sounds like the usual scam that everyone keeps warning about.

Got a call today from someone claiming my computer was spilling info all over the internet. When I asked how on earth they found that out, they said some “research team” got the data from my PC. I just hung up straight away. Then the cheeky bloke rang back and, no joke, told me “screw you, you motherf***er.” Unbelievable!

This morning I got a call that woke me up, my husband picked up but all we heard was silence, then this weird robot voice said 'Goodbye'. Definitely looked like one of those scam calls, they really need to be dealt with.

Got a call from some tech support scammers claiming they wanted to fix my computer. Told em I’m a software engineer and just started feeding them rubbish info. They weren’t interested for long and hung up pretty quick. Total waste of time, those muppets just trying to get in my system!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows, saying my PC wasn’t working properly. They told me to turn it on so they could fix it. Nope, no way I’m falling for that.

Got a call from some Asian guy trying to mess with my computer. I just told him, “Hey, what’s you wearing right now, darling?” and that seemed to freak him out cause he ended the call straight away! Absolute muppets taking advantage of older folks and worried people like that.

I get these calls from someone claiming to be from Asia about my computer almost every week. Honestly, I kinda enjoy it - they waste my time, so I return the favour. I string them along for ages, pretend I’m using Apple which seems to confuse them, then throw some insults their way. Like someone mentioned before, it could be ISIS or some other dodgy group trying to scam money or steal your data. Why doesn’t the government step in and make phone companies block these scam calls? You’d think they could do something about it. Cheers, Danny.

I got a call from an Asian guy claiming he’s with Microsoft, saying my PC was spilling private info online. I just said I’d get my tech crew to check it out and then hung up.

They said they were from Windows, and I played along for a bit until they put me through to some “technical expert.” I kept them chatting for a while, but then lost interest. When he asked what was showing on my screen, I just blurted it out (whoops, Mum might not be pleased!).

So some dodgy bloke rings up sayin’ “Your PC’s got a virus, I can fix it for you.” I was like, “Right, what do I need to do then?” He tells me, “Click on My Computer.” I’m thinkin’, “Mate, I can’t see yours anywhere.” Then he goes, “No, no, click on My Computer on *your* machine.” I said, “How the heck is your computer inside mine?” You get the picture. Proper laugh that!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming my computer was infected with a virus. He asked to take remote control to fix it, but I knew it was a total scam to hack into my system. Definitely don’t trust these dodgy calls!

On 21/07/2015, I got a call claiming to be from Microsoft, trying to make me switch my computer on. I actually got caught out by this scam years ago, but luckily I didn’t hand over any cash. Now, I just end the call straight away - I don’t like being impolite but sometimes there’s no choice. They keep ringing though. Sometimes it’s just dead silence on the line, which is really frustrating when you’re busy or getting woken up. It would be great if phone companies let us block calls from 00 numbers without extra fees.

a few years back i nearly fell for one of these scams. being in my 80s, it really worried me, so i asked a mate to call microsoft and check it out. they said they never do cold calls, so luckily i avoided getting tricked. when “they” rang again, i told them straight i knew they weren’t from microsoft. today they rang again, but i checked the number before picking up and saw they’d hung up already. glad i stayed cautious!

Spent nearly half an hour messing with these clowns today, fingers crossed I stopped a couple of gullible folks from getting ripped off. After a while, though, I just lost interest.

Got a ring from this number earlier. Heard some noise in the background and a bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was from Microsoft, talking about an issue with my PC. He asked if I had a particular tool, but I just told him I wasn’t interested and wondered how he got my digits in the first place. Next thing, he just cut off! I've wasted no time and reported it to action fraud.

Some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft rang me up, which I reckon was a total scam. I got talking to a "John" or summat, but the moment I told him I’m in IT, he just ended the call straight away. Definitely dodgy behaviour.

Got a call from some bloke in India who was trying to get into my PC! I decided to have a bit of fun with him. When he asked what I was seeing on my screen, I pretended I could read every single letter on my keyboard out loud :) Then he called me some proper rude names before just hanging up on me. Total scam, watch out!

I picked up the phone, heard a silence for a bit, then just "bye" from the other end. Was kinda hoping to keep them on the line longer, messing about with my Linux setup.

Phone number 0019897773880 called me claiming to be from Microsoft support. They insisted my computer was full of viruses and could cause serious problems, even mentioning things like terrorism! After chatting for quite a while, they offered to sort it out for £195 for a year, £395 for three years, or £595 for lifetime protection. Seems like a total scam, so be careful!

I’ve been receiving incessant calls from this number for weeks on end, and each time I pick up, there’s nothing but silence followed by an impersonal "goodbye." It’s all rather perplexing that they would ring so often only to suddenly vanish.
