They suddenly fall silent and then disconnect without saying anything.

Somebody rang me claiming they were from TalkTalk, saying my computer was full of "viruses" and asking me to type stuff into it. Instead of following his instructions properly, I just put the letters into Google. He then wanted to know what popped up on the screen. When I told him the search showed info about the eventvwr TalkTalk scam, he ended up swearing at me with a heavy Asian accent. Lovely bloke, really. I’m quite tough, but not daft. Just a heads up to everyone out there!

This morning, a call came through on my landline from 0019897546938 - on a Saturday, of all days! When I picked up, there was just weird buzzing and odd noises, nothing understandable, so I ended the call pretty quick. It baffles me how they managed to get hold of my number since it’s ex-directory and only a handful of people actually know it.

Got a call from someone pretending to be with Talk Talk, definitely a scammer.
