Got a call at 8:55 on a Saturday morning from a man who sounded like he was from Pakistan or India. He was telling me there were loads of errors and rubbish on my computer and told me to turn it on and check. He didn’t know a single thing about me, which made it obvious to me that it was just a scam. I asked him for his name, phone number, company name, and where he was calling from, saying I wanted to report him to the UK police. Still, he kept telling me to sit in front of my computer, which wasn’t even switched on. When I asked again for his details, he just hung up straight away.

The English was really off, sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent. Caller said they were from the Microsoft Windows help desk. I've had two calls from this number now. The second call, they asked for me by my last name. I've just moved into this place and only got this landline a few months ago. No clue what they're trying to hawk but this definitely isn't a genuine Microsoft call. I've used Microsoft Windows since the days of Windows 3.1 and never once had Microsoft ring me up before.

Got a call around lunchtime from a bloke who spoke really broken English, claiming he was from the Windows company. I asked where he was calling from and he said ‘New Jersey’, but I wasn’t buying it. When I said I wasn’t interested he kept pushing, asking if I didn’t care about what was supposedly wrong with my computer. I just told him he was talking nonsense and hung up straight away.

Been getting a few calls this week, about 3 total. Two were from a woman with an accent, kinda foreign sounding. Today, some bloke called me and got really nasty when I said I’d report him. He dropped some proper swear words at me. Then he said if I ended the call, he’d just keep ringing until I said I loved him! So I put the phone down, and yep, he rang back straight away. Managed to get his number and just hung up after that. Proper annoying.

I've gotten calls a bunch of times from this number 0019802074773, some bloke with pretty poor English claiming he's from Microsoft, saying there's an issue with my Windows. Tried the TPS but no help at all. I told him straight I'd be reporting him to the police.

We've recently received the very same ring, Polly. We let them know we knew it was a scam and that we planned to report both them and their phone number. After that, she abruptly ended the call. 😉
