Back in July 2016, I got a call from someone with an Indian or Pakistani accent claiming there was something wrong with my computer. He kept asking for loads of serial numbers and stuff. I told him to hold on while I checked, but really I just left him waiting for ages before I said he was trying to con me. Thing is, I didn’t even own a computer then! I ended the call, but he phoned me two more times. Guess he thought I was some gullible old lady.

I got a call from this number just now, and the woman on the line spoke flawless English. She kept calling me by a different name and kept pushing me for my address. When I asked what it was about, she suddenly got quite pushy and kept insisting on knowing where I lived. I firmly told her I wasn’t going to share any of my details, and then she just hung up. Honestly, it felt super dodgy.

I’ve been getting quite a few calls lately from a number that sounds like it’s from some call centre, but the person on the line said it was a firm called Today's Lifestyle. I told them I was fed up with all the calls. The bloke argued back saying he’d never rung me before. Every other time I got calls saying they were from that company, the numbers showed up as unreachable. They were really annoying and quite rude too. Eventually, I just hung up and looked the number up on the internet.

Yesterday, I tried using 1471 to find out who was ringing me, but it said "number not available". However, today I finally managed to get the number, and unsurprisingly, it's a scam! I've been getting calls on my landline even though the line sounds dead, but you can tell someone’s definitely there. Recently got a dodgy call from a chap called David, who spoke really clearly, claiming he was from BT. He said my direct debit was cancelled and tried to fish for my details. At one point, he dropped a fake account number and then wanted my passport number to "confirm" things! I warned him the call was being recorded and tracked. Told him to jog on!

Got a call from energy saving solutions the other day, told them it was a business line and that we’re on the TPS list. Would be handy if they had a proper address so I could report them properly. Then they rang my home number again, but this time from a different phone number. Pretty frustrating!

Got a call from a lady claiming to be from some company named Energy Saving Solutions. She told me she was doing a survey for the government about energy use and said I’d get fined if I didn’t participate. I wasn’t really up for it and told her so. She mentioned she’d ring me again tomorrow. Not sure if it was legit or not, but suspicious anyway.

I received a call from a contact centre today, conducting a survey for UK businesses about our shopping behaviours and spending patterns. The person on the other end sounded quite desperate; it must be a dreadful role, making calls to individuals who wish they would just stop bothering them. It's the corporations and organisations behind these setups that bear the responsibility, utilizing staff who might be operating under dire conditions, subjected to a job that can be incredibly damaging to their well-being. I truly sympathise with those caught in this consumer-driven system. It's downright disgraceful and, quite frankly, it's a blight on our society-contributing to the degradation of our environment and exploiting vulnerable communities worldwide.

They kept ringing my landline non-stop for about 20 minutes, leaving messages that had something to do with pi. I thought it might be a family member urgently trying to reach me but I was tied up on a work call on my mobile and couldn’t pick up. It was really frustrating and a right pain.
