Got a call from an Asian guy, his English wasn’t great. He claimed to be from BT and went on and on for a minute or so, but as soon as I asked him to say it again, he just hung up. We’re not even customers of BT anyway.

Got a call from 0019497157933, a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT saying my internet was about to be disconnected. Told him to jog on and hung up. He called back, sounding quite rude, asking why I ended the call. I hung up again and then the phone kept ringing like six more times. Really wish there was a way to stop these annoying scam artists wasting everyone's time.

Got a call from a man named Frank claiming he was with BT, saying there was a security issue with my internet that had to be fixed. I told him he was lying and hung up. He called again but I told him I wasn’t interested in speaking with him. He then threatened that my internet would be disconnected within the hour and that BT would send me official documents.

Absolute nightmare scammers - honestly hope someone finds a way to lock them up for good. Then again, maybe not fair on the animals, so how about just dumping them somewhere in the middle of the ocean instead?

0019497157933. Some bloke with an English name but sounded Asian rang my elderly mum today claiming he worked for BT and was sending guys to fix internet problems. Mum told him she doesn't even have internet, but he just said it doesn't matter since her street has it. Proper nonsense. Honestly, I'd love for him to show up so I could tell him where to go.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he was "Stephen Walker" from "BT Technical". Said my internet was going to be cut off in a couple of hours. I played along for a bit, then told him I wasn’t interested cos I actually don’t even have internet at home. He hung up, muttering something about me getting cut off in two hours. Classic scammer stuff.

Blimey, these lot really won't give up! This is the second time they've rung me in just a fortnight - I actually hung on for 6 minutes this time. They're getting clever too, threw in an employee ID and all that jazz! I only hung up when he couldn’t even say my proper name.

Blimey, this guy’s relentless. Got loads of calls from him (John Smith, yeah right!!!!). My missus ended the first call straight away, but he kept ringing back, called her some rude names and even said he’d pop over (bit of a trek from the States, mind). I’m usually easy-going, but I let him know exactly what my knuckles would do to his mug, so then suddenly he wanted to chat to her instead of me! What a surprise. Total scammer and a right nasty piece of work.

I just got a call from a guy named 'Adam' with a really thick Indian accent, claiming to be from BT. He said my broadband had a virus and they needed to cut it off to fix it. He wanted me to turn on my computer to check my account. When I told him I couldn't right then, he kept pushing. I asked for a number to call BT back at a better time. He gave me BT's official number, but the call was coming from some 0019 number. I Googled that number immediately and ended up on this site.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang, said his name was Peter and claimed he was from the BT tech team. He asked if I was the main person using the internet at my house. I was about to tell him that I had a call like that last week, and the guy on the other end got really rude, using bad language and making threats when I said I didn’t believe he was really from BT. As soon as I mentioned that, he just hung up. Proper unpleasant folks.

Some bloke called Steven Wright, said he was from BT, and told me my internet was going to be cut off in two hours because of some broadband issues. He wanted me to turn on my computer so he could fix it remotely. I asked for his contact info - phone number, employee ID, all that - said I'd give it to my husband who's a Chief Inspector. Then told him to ring me back in 15 minutes. No shocker, he never called back.

Got a guy on the phone saying he was from BT, telling me there was an issue with my phone line. I told him BT isn’t my provider, and then he switched it up saying he was actually working for Sky or TalkTalk or something. I asked what number he was ringing from, and he said 08006800618. They sound Indian and it’s a total con, pretending to be from BT. I’ve had them call loads of times. I always just say my computer’s upstairs and I gotta switch it on. Then I leave the phone off the hook for about half an hour. When I pick up again, no one’s there. Complete scam.

Called my elderly folks, both in their eighties, and once more some person with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT got through. They quickly hung up, but then the phone rang back not once, but twice straightaway - clearly targeting old people. Thankfully, while my parents are elderly, they’re not daft and I’ve warned them plenty about these awful scams. By the third time, they just let the phone ring out. I worry though, since my parents do have BT Broadband, and seeing other comments, it looks like these scam callers might have some way of accessing BT’s info.

Just like others have said before, I got a call from a man who sounded Asian but had a very English name and even knew my surname. He claimed to be from BT's Technical Department saying my internet would be cut off right away due to some system errors. He asked if I had a laptop or tablet online and when I said no, he told me to go online. I instantly knew it was a SCAM and told him to end the call as I wasn’t falling for it. Got a call from an Indian bloke saying they needed to set up our broadband for 14 or 15 days to protect our system from some kind of attack. When I asked where he was calling from, he gave me a postcode for the BT tower in London, which made me laugh. I then asked if he’d prefer chatting in Hindi since his English wasn’t great. That’s when he just hung up on me.

On the 4th of August 2017, I received a rather strange phone call from the number 0019497157933. The chap on the other end had a thick Asian accent, making it quite hard to follow what he was saying. He claimed to be from BT and insisted that there were issues with my computer, stating that someone was meddling with my email or internet. He pressured me to power up my computer so he could demonstrate these so-called errors. When I voiced my suspicion that it might be a scam, he threatened to escalate the matter to BT's main office and warned that I’d lose my internet connectivity within two hours if I didn’t comply. He asserted that the conversation was being recorded, which added to the absurdity. I challenged him to provide my BT account number, suspecting he wouldn't get it right, and indeed, the numbers he rattled off were completely off. I stood my ground and refused to turn on my computer. He repeated his threats about reporting me and the imminent disconnection of my internet, to which I replied with a casual "fine" before hanging up. As it turned out, my internet remained perfectly fine after all that.
