5 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be David Owen Chase, pushing me to sell 4000 Morrison shares for £60k. He said I needed to put down £5000 into a bank account in the Philippines to dodge taxes. According to him, I'd get that cash back along with the proceeds from selling the shares, and that amount was just some kind of insurance in case I changed my mind. He even told me if the bank questioned the transfer, I should say it’s for a mate or payment for services. Definitely a scam - he tries to speak with an American accent but it sounds more like an Asian one.David Owen ChaseMorrisonPhilippines5 yearsGot a couple of calls from 0019175067939 around 8 o'clock in the evening, both within just a few minutes. The number popped up as coming from abroad. After checking it out, loads of people have flagged it as a scam. Definitely dodgy!5 yearsHad a couple of calls recently from people saying they were from Capital Finance. First it was someone called Marin Diaz, then later a James Scott. Both wanted to buy my Legal & General shares supposedly for some client they wouldn’t identify. I have no clue how they found my name and private phone number though. They kept asking for my email but I didn’t give it, and they wouldn’t say anything about their client. Felt quite dodgy to me.Marin DiazJames ScottCapital FinanceLegal & General5 yearsGot a call from 0019 175 067 939 for the sixth time now. They never leave any voicemail or message on my answerphone. They kept going on about wanting to purchase shares for a client who supposedly already had 43% of Morrisons Supermarkets. Real persistent, kept ringing non stop.Capital One BankNew YorkMorrisons Supermarkets5 yearsThis is the third call I've had from them in just one week. They said they were from Capital Financial Services and wanted to buy my Morrisons shares because some company might be taking over. They were offering between £6 and £13 per share, which is like 3 to 7 times the actual market price. Totally ridiculous and obviously some kind of scam. They just hung up suddenly. Watch out for this!Capital Financial ServicesMorrisons5 yearsGot a call from some place called Capital Financial Services or something, talking about buying my IAG shares. They even said the client owns like 41% of IAG, which is oddly specific. The call came from an Indian number, which seems dodgy. How do they even know how many shares I got?
