Got a call from some guy who claimed to be tech support for Windows but I don't even have a Windows PC. Then he asked my age, and when I asked why, the bloke actually said he wanted to "make love." I'll spare you my reply, but I just ended the call straight away without letting him say a thing.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from "Windows support," saying my computer was compromised. Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me claiming to be from the Windows tech team, saying there was an issue with my PC. I just told him I don’t even own a computer and messed him about a bit. He got fed up before I did and hung up on me. Normally, I avoid answering calls from "International," "Withheld," or "Unavailable" numbers, and since my phone announces callers, it usually works fine. My voicemail actually mentions which calls I ignore and invites people to leave a message - and even suggests donating to "stop all cold callers" if they feel like it.

I received a call from someone claiming there was a problem with my computer and that I needed to switch it on. When I asked for her identity and the origin of her call, as we have multiple PCs in the house, she insisted she was from the Windows maintenance team, stating they had received a notification from my machine. I could tell straight away that it was a scam. I challenged her, asking how she could dictate actions to me without properly introducing herself or even knowing my identity, let alone specifying which version of Windows she was referring to. Not long after, she abruptly ended the call.

Got two calls within about five minutes. First one was a woman checking if I was the main user of the phone, then she ended the call pretty quickly. Then a bloke called, saying he'd help sort serious problems on my PC. He asked me to turn it on and give him remote control. No chance, I told him I’d get my mate to sort any troubles. After that, he just hung up.

Been getting loads of calls this week from someone pretending to be from TalkTalk, my internet company. They were really rude and kept pushing me. When I told them it’s a scam, they just went 'how can you say that?'. It’s shocking they’re allowed to do this, do they seriously take us for mugs? This has gotta be illegal or something, these folks are absolute con artists! Someone definitely needs to step in.

At 10 o’clock on the morning of June 7th, 2016, the person on the other end just wouldn’t talk. Could hear noises like people chatting in the background.

I tried to talk but they just wouldn’t respond. Then out of nowhere, a lady’s recorded voice said 'Goodbye'. Really awkward and not a nice experience at all.

I've had a few calls recently from someone claiming to be Sean, saying he's from Windows tech support. Each time he asked about my computer a couple of times before just cutting the call off. When I answered and said hello, the call would end straight away. Seems like a scam to me - I'd say it’s definitely something to watch out for.

Every day it’s a toss-up whether I get dead silence or some really persistent call from an Asian call centre claiming to be Microsoft. They say there’s a problem with my software and offer to sort it out. Once I mention I’m actually on a Mac and that they’re fibbing, they just hang up on me. Proper dodgy scammers, honestly.
