9 yearsNo reply, just ended with a quick farewell.9 yearsSomebody rang up asking for my mum by her name and then just hung up on me two times!9 yearsSome bloke called himself Sean Wilson from BT Openreach, but when I pressed for proof, he gave me a customer number that definitely wasn’t mine. He kept babbling about problems at the exchange and said I had to sit at my computer right away. I told him I was busy and then he started threatening I'd lose internet for a whole week and have to cough up a reconnection charge if I didn’t act in 30 minutes. When I asked for his real name, he just hung up. Sounded really pushy and aggressive - I reckon he could easily fool someone less careful.Sean WilsonBT Openreach9 yearsGot a call from this number earlier but didn't pick up. Checked it on 1471 afterwards and saw loads of people saying it's a scam. If you do end up speaking to them and they claim to be from BT, just ask for your customer reference - a legit rep will give it without fuss. These lot just get rude and hang up when you do. They usually try to trick you into handing over your PC info. This number's rung me a few times now, total scammers. Best to steer clear!BT9 yearsGot a call from an Asian guy who said his name was Sean. I just hung up straight away.Sean9 yearsI just got another call where nobody said a thing, then they hung up with a quick "goodbye". Seems like the auto dialler's running too quick for whoever's answering, probably some call centre in India. I asked them what their actual name was and told them to find a legit job instead of pulling dodgy scams.9 yearsAbsolute rip off, avoid at all costs!!! Total scam!!!9 yearsBeware, it's a total scam! They’re pretending to be tech support just to hack into your PC!9 yearsGot a call from a man who sounded Asian but said his name was Steve Wilson, claiming to be from BT Open Reach. He said there was an issue with my computer and asked me to open Windows. I put him on hold for a while, then said I’d opened the windows and asked if I should open the doors too. Next thing, he told me to bloody off. Total scam!Steve WilsonBT Open Reach9 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be from BT internet, saying my connection was acting up and I needed to check my computer. Even though I kept saying I wasn’t really happy about the whole thing, I still listened to some of what they said.9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be BT, saying there was an issue with my router due to some work at the exchange causing frequency changes or whatever. The connection was awful and I could barely understand her, plus she had a strong Indian accent but said she was calling from the US, which seemed dodgy. She asked me how many lights were on my router, I told her 4 and she insisted that was a problem. I just told her everything was fine and then I ended the call.BTUSA9 yearsGot a call from this number earlier, some bloke claiming he was from BT. Honestly, don’t pick up if this number rings you!BT9 yearsAfter a quiet pause, a robotic voice came on saying ‘Goodbye’.9 yearsHeads up! There’s someone out there trying to trick you into installing TeamViewer so they can access your PC. Best to stay well clear and not download anything from sketchy sources.9 yearsHang up straight away, they just want your info and can get really nasty. Seriously dodgy callers, best to avoid them completely.9 yearsEvery time I answer, there's no response on the other end, so frustrating! I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.9 yearsHad a rather dodgy phone call purporting to be from BT. They were desperate to get me to install TeamViewer so they could access my computer. I decided to toy with them for a good 40 minutes-absolutely hilarious!BTTeamViewer9 yearsJust got one of those scam calls, ended it straight away!9 yearsI got a call from a woman with a foreign accent, said her name was Wendy, claiming she worked for BT Openreach. She asked about my router and how many lights were on it. I told her there was just one light and that the router was completely new with no issues. I kept stressing that point, but after a few times, she suddenly ended the call. I could hear noises in the background that sounded like a call centre.WendyBT Openreach9 yearsSo this Asian guy called me on 17/05/2017 claiming he was with BT Openreach, saying there's some problem with my router frequency. He asked how many lights were lit up on it. I told him to call back another time. After having a look at the number on my phone, I've got a few choice words ready to teach him some proper old-school Anglo Saxon if he decides to ring again.BT Openreach9 yearsGot two calls from scammers today. The first one was from 00783095 and the next from 0019032551036. Both said they were from BT. I just asked them to tell me my BT account number if I was their customer. That seemed to confuse them so much they either got annoyed or hung up straight away. Absolute rubbish people. Don’t give them any info or play along.BT9 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be BT Openreach, saying there’s a fault at the local exchange. They asked me to look at the lights on my router, probably trying to pull a scam. After that, I just said cheers and ended the call.BT OpenreachBT9 yearsSomeone rang me saying they were from BT Openreach and that there was an issue with my internet router. They told me to download 'Team Viewer' so their tech team could fix the problem remotely. Before I put in any codes, I asked for a phone number to check their identity.
