Got a ring from this number earlier on, with someone claiming to be from a nuisance calls outfit. They already had my phone number and address, then wanted me to say my name. I said no and mentioned it might be dodgy, then they just cut off. You could hear loads of chatter behind them, like a call centre. Seems like a classic scam to me. Best not share any details with these people.

Been getting calls from loads of different numbers all trying to sell me some bogus telephone preference thing. Had about three calls just since yesterday. Definitely stay clear of them!

So, I got a call round 11:35 from a lady with an Asian accent who wanted to know if it was me on the phone (she said my name). I didn't really reply to her question and just asked who she was after. Then she just hung up.

Got a call from some dodgy bloke claiming he was from TPS, trying to get my credit card info. Total scammer, sounded like he was from Asia or somewhere. Watch out!

Got a call from the telephone preference team asking me to confirm my BT direct debit. Decided to mess about a bit and fed them loads of fake card info, kept him chatting for about ten minutes. If you’ve got nothing better to do, mess with their time - they hate it! :)

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS who accused me of being rude and tried to sell me a call blocker. I said I didn’t need one since my phone already has blocking features and that I’d block his number as soon as we finished. He then said if I did that, I’d stop getting calls from my own family. After I ended the call, I could still hear him ringing me for about 10 minutes before he finally gave up. I’ve now blocked his number for good.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent who said her name was Rose Lin. She said she was calling from something like Telephone Preference Management or similar. She asked if she was talking to Mr [my surname], but since I'm a woman, I said no, and then she just hung up straight away.

On the morning of 19th March around 9, I got a call saying BT's nuisance call blocking was ending. The person on the line said they could offer a superior and broader call blocking service instead.

I got a call from a girl at some call centre who wanted to know if I owned the number. As soon as I said I was Detective Sergeant XXX, she just hung up right away.

Some bloke rang me up asking if I'd been gettin' loads of nuisance calls. I told him no, and then out of nowhere he starts telling me I owe £89 for some service, and that they’d be sending me a box since I supposedly asked for it. I asked him for any proof, like an order number or date, but he just went and ended the call on me. Definitely a scam, best to just block and ignore this number if it rings you.

Picked up the phone to the number, but after a few seconds of silence, I heard some Hindi tunes playing. I didn’t stick around to see if anyone would say anything and just ended the call.

My mum, who’s getting on a bit, keeps getting calls from this bloke who’s probably some kind of scammer. Every time she ends the call, he rings right back spouting nonsense about some dodgy package. Honestly, this guy should be locked up or something.

got a call from this number but there was no voicemail left so i had no clue who it was. after reading the comments here i’ve decided to just block it.

He claimed the call was regarding call blocking and said they were checking my phone settings. Strangely, he already had a lot of my details - my name, address and even who my phone provider was. He mentioned I was signed up for call blocking, but honestly, I had no clue about that. Then he said I was settling my phone bill by direct debit, which isn’t true. Next, he asked for the expiry date on my debit card. I asked why he needed that for call blocking and refused to give it. After that, he just hung up.
